Wayfair is looking for a creative, driven, entrepreneurial training lead to help build one of our newest consumer-facing sales teams. This virtual role will be based in Chicago, with up to 70% expected travel to stores as well as regular travel to the Boston / New England area where HQ is located. You will be responsible for facilitating onboarding and continuing education to our team of design sales consultants who work with customers to create a home they love based on their individual budget, style and space. 

What you’ll do: 

  • Responsible for delivering training programs for our retail and virtual designers
  • Facilitate new hire training, onboarding, ongoing training, and process change training to lead learners to optimal performance in accordance with network standards.
  • Utilize innovative facilitation methods to ensure the success of retail teams
  • Work with Content Design Teams to ensure all skills training is current and make recommendations on training priorities.
  • Identify and address training needs for interior designers, both in-person and remotely
  • Conduct regular training assessments to evaluate effectiveness of our training program
  • Support innovative approaches to training, such as virtual reality
  • Continuously track and analyze performance metrics to measure success of training programs
  • Provide feedback and coaching to retail teams, to improve customer experience
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of retail and interior design industry trends and best practices
  • Partner with Design Services strategy and operations team to ensure training initiatives are aligned with organizational goals 
  • Exemplify a positive and professional attitude on a daily basis with customers and your team members
  • Engage in a high energy, focused and dynamic work environment where there can be rapid changes in products, promotions, offerings and operations 

 

What you’ll need: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or certification in Adult Learning, Corporate Training, or related area of study, or equivalent professional experience
  • Dynamic interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated experience in public speaking and content facilitation both in-person and virtually across varying levels of learner experience and knowledge
  • Passionate about creating and maintaining an environment of ongoing education & development
  • Exceptional facilitation and coaching skills, able to lead by example and coach on the sales floor
  • Confident and polished trainer who can effectively communicate and disseminate complicated directives, with a focus on defining a “retail language” that applies directly to the effectiveness of store 
  • A clear and demonstrated proficiency in adult learning principles, engagement techniques, and effective facilitation in an adult learning environment.
  • Demonstrated integration skills in a challenging environment - to bring multiple goals together to create focused and synchronized training strategy.
  • Keep a pulse on corporate training insights – Industry advancements, learning technologies and best practices
  • Activator who anticipates the needs of the people and business and can handle competing priorities to prioritize and deliver results
  • Relationship builder who takes the feedback of stakeholders to support channel needs and deliver against global strategy
  • Organized and methodical approach to learning program implementation
  • Creative and growth-centric mindset, and able to navigate through change and ambiguity
  • Follow-through and deadline driven – Able to plan for and meet important deadlines
  • Demonstrated use of technology to drive business results, ability to learn new software programs quickly, experience with Google Suite, Learning Management Systems such as Cornerstone, and Salesforce CRM preferred
  • Ability to maintain internet speeds of 25Mbps+ (download) and 5+ (upload) to support voice traffic and HTTPS web traffic using a hardwire ethernet internet connection (no WiFi) 
  • Dedicated private workspace (Wayfair provides all necessary computer equipment)

 

The salary range for this position is $63,450-$78,500 however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
