About the role

The eCommerce Transportation Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing transportation operations specific to the eCommerce supply chain. This position involves managing the transportation team, coordinating last-mile delivery logistics, and ensuring a seamless and efficient flow of goods to customers. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of eCommerce logistics, strong leadership skills, and a focus on enhancing the customer experience.

• Last-Mile Delivery Coordination:
  • Develop and implement efficient last-mile delivery strategies to meet eCommerce customer expectations.
  • Coordinate with local carriers, third-party delivery services, and courier partners for timely and accurate deliveries.
• Route Optimization for eCommerce Orders:
  • Utilize route planning software and data analytics to optimize delivery routes for eCommerce orders.
  • Implement strategies to reduce delivery times, minimize costs, and enhance overall delivery efficiency.
• Collaboration with Fulfillment Centers:
  • Coordinate transportation activities with eCommerce fulfillment centers.
  • Ensure seamless integration between order processing, packaging, and transportation for timely order dispatch.
• Technology Integration:
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and tools in eCommerce transportation.
  • Implement and optimize the use of technology, such as tracking systems and delivery management software.
• Customer Experience Enhancement:
  • Work collaboratively with customer service teams to address transportation-related inquiries and issues.
  • Implement strategies to enhance the overall customer experience in the delivery process.
• Cost Management:
  • Develop and manage the transportation budget for eCommerce operations.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiate contracts, and monitor expenses related to transportation.
• Performance Metrics and Reporting:
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for eCommerce transportation.
  • Generate regular reports on transportation metrics, analyze data, and provide insights for continuous improvement.
• Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:
  • Ensure that all transportation activities comply with relevant regulations, including those specific to eCommerce.
  • Implement safety protocols and standards for last-mile delivery operations.

 

In the role of Transportation Manager, you will report to the Vice President of eCommerce.
