User Researcher, Storefront

Who We Are
The Storefront team is responsible for designing, building, analyzing, and managing all of the customer facing digital experiences for Wayfair - across our six brands, all platforms (web, iOS, Android), in all the countries Wayfair operates in. This role is for someone who is passionate about user research and human centered design, and has a desire to help deliver positive consumer experiences through research.
What You’ll Do
As a User Researcher on the Storefront team, you will be empowered to plan and run research projects end-to-end, including defining clear problem statements, framing project goals and ingoing research assumptions and questions, scoping and selecting the appropriate methods and tools, supporting in recruitment, running/facilitating research activities, analyzing and synthesizing data, sharing and socializing findings, etc. Ultimately, you will influence and persuade cross-functional leaders and more senior partners to act on your findings.
What’s Required
- A curious, self-directed learner who soak up opportunities and experience, with at least some exposure / experience in a social research field (sociology, behavioral science, HCI, etc), if no/limited professional experience in the field
- Collaborative - you will be working with many stakeholders and cross functional teammates
- Mixed methods proficiency is ideal - you will be designing, conducting and analyzing both qual and quant research.
- Product centric - your research will be focused on the digital CX and helping product and design to discover and deliver on new opportunities. Experience working with tech or e-commerce companies/clients is a nice to have
- Communication and storytelling skills - you must be comfortable presenting your findings in ways that audiences of different disciplines & seniority can understand and act on
- Research recruitment / outreach skills - you are / would be comfortable recruiting participants for research studies
- Research tools proficiency a bonus: familiarity using various research tools such as usertesting.com, Optimal Workshop, Survey Monkey, Full Story, Qualtrics, R, etc.
- Design Thinking Mindset - you will be asked to support preparation & facilitation for ideation sessions and support in rapid iteration
- Growth mindset - eager to learn and try new things, open to feedback, open to working with new teams etc
