Position Overview

StepStone is currently seeking candidates with excellent project management and strong writing skills for a Vice President position within StepStone’s global RFP Team. The Vice President will work in a team that supports the global RFP and business development efforts across StepStone, as well as other communications to source and service potential clients as StepStone continues to grow. The Vice President’s primary role is to review proposals, presentations, and other analyses drafted by junior RFP Team members, as well as ensuring proper project timelines are met. As a result, the Vice President will ensure that StepStone delivers consistent, high-quality proposals and other deliverables in response to requests from current and prospective clients. In addition, the Vice President will collaborate with and have exposure to professionals of all levels across the Firm, including the research, business development, monitoring and reporting, finance, legal, compliance, operational due diligence, and HR teams. The candidate should have a solid understanding and interest in investments, the private markets space (specifically, private equity, infrastructure, real estate, and private debt), strong writing, interpersonal, and project management skills.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for reviewing responses to client requests, RFPs/RFIs, surveys/questionnaires, and onsite client presentations to ensure accuracy and consistency in style
  • Supervise completion of RFPs/RFIs and client requests, including writing and editing content, working with a cross-functional team to obtain all the necessary information, and ensuring that the final product is accurate and delivered on time
  • Assist in managing and maintaining central database of responses to update content
  • Strong commitment to high-quality writing, demonstrated ability to produce compelling and compliant proposals against aggressive deadlines, and working in a global team environment
  • Critically assess the accuracy and relevance of content provided by cross-functional team members in response to RFPs/RFIs/client requests where needed
  • Assist with training junior RFP Team members to respond to industry surveys and ad hoc requests, organize attachment libraries, and redact documents as needed
  • Provide support on developing presentations and managing agendas for on-site client presentations
  • Assist with various other projects, training, and analyses for the Team

 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or Liberal Arts
  • Minimum of 10 years of related financial services (private equity or investment management a plus) experience

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Highly motivated, strategic thinker with demonstrated history of taking initiative, being adaptive in a fast changing environment, and working independently within a defined corporate system
  • Strong ability to multi-task and manage time in a detail-oriented environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Familiarity with RFPIO and Salesforce preferred
  • Follow up skills and attention to accuracy and detail are essential
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Salary Range - $125,000- $165,000
