About StepStone: StepStone Infrastructure & Real Assets ("SIRA") is a global team that focuses on supporting institutional investors across all stages of their infrastructure and real assets investment programs, including with new and existing investments in infrastructure, agriculture, forestry and other real assets. SIRA has investment professionals with significant real asset experience, based in the USA, Canada, Australia and the UK. Position Overview:The Vice President or Principal of SIRA located in the Toronto, New York or London office, will primarily be focussed on SIRA’s Natural Capital strategy having responsibility for working with the global SIRA team in relation to client business development and taking a leading role in respect of manager coverage and originating new investment opportunities, investment processes, and asset management assignments. In addition, this role may also involve similar responsibilities more broadly in the SIRA business in respect of infrastructure related activities. Essential Job Functions:

  • Working with SIRA’s Partners and Principals globally as part of the senior team responsible for developing SIRA’s Natural Capital business
  • Support or lead client business development activities, including:
    • Regular meetings with clients and prospective clients to develop client relationships
    • Presentation of investment opportunities and investment solutions
  • Leading SIRA GP / manager coverage in designated regions, with support from the global natural capital lead and broader SIRA team, including:
    • GP / manager meetings, relationship development, and market monitoring
    • Primary fund / manager due diligence and memorandums
  • Manage or lead investment origination and execution:
    • Co-investments alongside GPs and other financial investors, including developing strong relationships with investment partners
    • Secondary investments in funds
  • Assisting or leading asset management requirements as required
Essential Skills & Expertise:
  • Strong network in the natural capital sectors of agriculture and forestry for investment origination and due diligence
  • Deep understanding of the key business value drivers, risk factors, and other underwriting considerations in natural capital sectors
  • Ability to undertake, and project manage, primary fund / manager and co-investment due diligence
  • Ability to undertake critical research and evaluation of potential investment opportunities and sub-sectors
  • High degree of proficiency in PowerPoint, Word and Excel, including the ability to prepare and review complex financial models
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • Experience of 8 or more years in the agriculture or forestry investment industry
  • Demonstrated ability to lead investment origination, execution and asset management activities
  • A Bachelor degree (or higher)

Salary Range $172,000 - $221,000

The salary range is an estimate of pay for this position.  Actual pay may vary depending on job-related factors that can include location, education, skill, and experience.  The salary range does not include any benefits or other forms of possible compensation that may be available to employees.
