Role: Video Editor 

Location: London, England, United Kingdom

 

About the role:

Working with our client a leader in the airline industry, the Video Editor will work as part of a team creating social and broadcast media including animation, editing and TV delivery. With a thorough understanding of how different digital channels present different challenges and opportunities and a solid understanding of TV/broadcast workflows, the candidate must be highly collaborative and still be able to work independently. Reporting to the Account Director and Head of Post-Production, the Video Editor works embedded within the central post-production team alongside the account Post Producer, whilst working daily with the rest of the account team servicing the client.

What you will be doing:
  • Talented and well-rounded editor that works well under deadlines, producing high-quality work.
  • Understand what makes GREAT content e.g., best practices for making social assets and mobile first, as well as inspiring creative from video style, editing and transitions.
  • Ability to liaise across various departments with clear communication
  • Able to receive a toolkit and a localised brief, with the footage and/or a shot list, script, or storyboard to create the masters for different formats and sizes
  • Produce creative motion graphics and editing work with a clear rationale to accompany the brief
  • Digitally cutting the files to put together the sequencing and deciding what is best suited
  • Creating adaptations from the master files into multiple outputs
  • Creating, sometimes from scratch and sometimes adapting from existing work, 2D animations, Motion Graphics, videos, etc.
  • Following strict brand guidelines, while finding the right balance between creative flare and sticking closely to the guidelines
  • A complete understanding of broadcast and TVC post workflows and processes
  • Expert in clocking and delivering for global TV stations
What you need to be great in this role:
  • Experience in content production
  • Dynamic & proactive
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • 5+ years post-production experience
  • Impressive reel
  • Confidence to be positioned as a video subject matter expert across the wider team.
  • Competence and understanding of end-to-end post-production processes
  • The ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty, ambiguity, and quickly evolving goals
  • Knowledge of collaborating and working alongside clients in advertising setting to meet creative briefs
  • Excellent sense of pace and timing, knowledge for the best ways to grab viewers, and a sense for how to tell a powerful story in as little time as possible
  • Ability to turn projects around on tight deadlines
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Expert level experience with Premiere and After Effects
  • Moderate - Expert experience with Photoshop/Illustrator
  • Proficient in Photoshop with an ability to perform mid to high level editorial retouching (color correction, removing artifacts, extending backgrounds, etc.)
  • Ability to proactively track activity across a high volume of assets and ensure delivery of those assets on time
  • Be a team player
  • 5 + years of relevant experience in:
    • Video Production
    • Motion Graphics
    • Production
    • TV and Broadcast delivery
    • Adaptation and localisation
