The market opportunity is large and we are well on our way. As part of that ambition, we are elevating our creative strategy, including prioritizing video across all channels. This role is an opportunity to be a foundational member of that evolution. 

We are looking for a highly driven, motivated Video Specialist to join our Specialty Retail Brand creative team. Candidates will partner with the Art Director and Digital Content lead on the three brands to articulate the vision of video projects, collaborate on early stage concepting including storyboarding, audio/visual swipe pulls, and soundtrack assistance; and take the video through post production, including cutting footage and editing for various media needs.

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to edit tight, fast-paced video; a knowledge of Basic motion graphics skills; familiarity with Premiere or comparable video editing software; and an elevated portfolio of work.

What You’ll Do 

  • Work closely with the Art Director and Lead designers to articulate a creative vision by storyboarding concepts and pitches for various owned and paid channels: i.e site landing pages and ads for channels like Youtube TV, Pinterest, and Instagram 
  • File managements, coordination of footage from various projects
  • Edit various cuts of video assets for various video project, using channel best practices
  • Work closely with directors of digital content to explore styles, pacing, and graphics to create exciting presentations that follow best practices 
  • Produce high volume video edits in a short turnaround time
  • Meet goals and manage deadlines effectively; independently manage time and goals efficiently per bi-weekly assignments 
  • Collaborate cross functionally with multiple teams;  Art Directors, Producers in an effort to meet business objectives 
  • Reference brand-books and create branded videos based on the direction of the AD
  • Participate in some studio and location video shoots - where you may capture social video footage and edit for social media platforms

Who You Are 

  • You have a superb eye for editing, storyboarding and concepting videos
  • You’re a self-starter able to move forward with or without specific art direction 
  • You’re able to work from a defined shot list and/or high level concept, interpret tear sheets, and conceptualize your own inspiring vision for each shot 
  • You’re self-motivated, producing exceptional storyboards with limited resources 
  • You are a strong collaborator and have the ability to work with (and across) many teams 

What You’ll Need 

  • An online portfolio that demonstrates expertise in storyboarding, film editing, and  marketing
  • 1-3 years of on-set experience, work in the film/commercial industry
  • A major in video/ film or marketing is preferred, but not required
  • Professional experience working with creative and editorial departments 
  • Technical aptitude; experience with Video Editing Softwares, Photoshop, Sketch Up, Illustrator is a plus 
  • An understanding of both still and video camera work
