Yext is seeking a talented and business-oriented attorney to join and lead the Commercial team. As VP & Assistant General Counsel, Head of Commercial, you will lead the global Commercial legal team that negotiates all commercial transactions, including revenue contracts, publisher contracts, data contracts and various strategic contracts. This role will work closely with executive leadership and various internal departments to drive business growth while safeguarding the company.This position is based in either our NYC office or Washington DC office and reports directly to our General Counsel.What You'll Do- Lead the drafting, reviewing and negotiating of a variety of complex commercial agreements – primarily SaaS subscription agreements – across our Enterprise and Partner/Reseller sales teams, as well as publisher, data and other strategic transactions
- Ensure that all commercial transactions comply with applicable laws and regulations for a publicly traded company
- Manage and mentor a team of commercial contract attorneys
- Improving and maintaining our standard commercial agreements, contract negotiation playbooks and legal processes to help us scale globally
- Monitor contract performance and manage disputes or issues arising from commercial agreements
- Proactively working with internal clients to improve and scale all aspects of the sales contract negotiation process
- Conducting periodic employee trainings on all of the above
- At least 10 years experience in commercial legal practice that includes practicing in-house;
- Experience managing attorneys and/or teams of attorneys;
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills;
- Prior experience with commercial agreements required, experience with SaaS, content distribution and general commercial agreements within the online media or technology industry strongly preferred;
- Flexibility and eagerness to work hard in fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines;
- Highly organized, process-driven and client-focused team player
- Law degree from an accredited U.S. law school and license to practice law

Pay ranges at Yext are established based on an analysis of salaries for positions with a similar level of accountability and impact in the relevant labor market. Salary levels are expected to change to reflect an employee’s job performance (results and impact) over time. Salaries at the time of hire are typically offered in the lower to middle of the above-referenced range in order to provide the opportunity to reflect performance-based increases over time. In addition to base salaries, employees at Yext are typically eligible for a comprehensive package of benefits including medical, dental and vision benefits; life insurance; short term and long-term disability; 401(k) retirement plan; and vacation and sick leave. Successful candidates may also be eligible for equity (stock) based compensation and/or variable pay programs based on performance relative to goals and targets.
