About the roleAs Vice President of Content Strategy & Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Crunchyroll’s long-term content strategy and development. You will drive high-impact initiatives, securing key partnerships, and unlocking new growth opportunities across Crunchyroll’s flywheel ecosystem. We ask that you have a deep understanding of the anime industry, partner relationships, IP business, and the ability to navigate cross-functional partnerships.
Core Areas of Responsibility Strengthening Licensor Partnerships- You will build and deepen relationships with licensors.
- You will position Crunchyroll as the preferred anime partner.
- You will support high-level negotiations and business discussions.
- You will ensure strong partnerships and commitment fulfillment.
- You will execute important content deals across streaming, merchandise, games, and theatrical.
- You will expand Crunchyroll’s portfolio through Sony’s ecosystem and external partnerships.
- You will secure strategic content in games, TV, film, publishing, and sports.
- You will explore new opportunities within and beyond Sony’s ecosystem.
- You will develop initiatives that support creators and expand Crunchyroll’s pipeline.
- You will explore new content formats, distribution models, and revenue streams.
- You will forecast anime and entertainment trends to inform strategy.
- You will provide leadership with insights on market shifts and new opportunities.
- You will use audience insights to refine licensing, production, and engagement.
- You will optimize investments and content decisions using analytics.
- You will align financial planning with content priorities.
- You will refine investment and greenlighting processes.
This role is based in Los Angeles and follows a hybrid schedule, with three days in the office each week.

- You have 10+ years of experience in content strategy, licensing, development, or a related field within anime, entertainment, or media.
- You value finding and securing content partnerships, especially in anime or global entertainment.
- You're familiar with anime, manga, gaming, and related industries, with a strong network of industry connections.
- You think strategically, communicate clearly, and know how to tell a great story to build strong business cases.
- You understand financial planning, deal structures, and investment strategies for content acquisition and development.
- You use data and insights to guide smart decisions.

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll’s Total Rewards offerings for employees.
