About the role

As VP, Supply Chain Management & Procurement you will lead our global sourcing network across Europe and Australia/New Zealand with an >1bn EUR spend.  You will be responsible for bringing our sourcing network and our supply chain across to the next level of becoming the most efficient and most data-driven eCommerce food supply chain, as we scale into additional markets and brands. 

You will be key responsible for our costs of goods sold and ingredient quality and lead important improvement initiatives across our upstream supply chain. Overall, you will have an immediate impact on our bottom-line costs and the opportunity to shape our sourcing and supply chain strategy. Working closely with Senior Management stakeholders internationally and across our local markets will provide a promising outlook and strong career opportunities.

🌍 This role is based in Berlin and reports to our COO Upstream, Tilman Eichstaedt.

What you’ll do
  • Lead a 300-people team across multiple locations
  • Continue to build out our sourcing network, improve our supplier management, reduce our Costs of Goods sold, and improve our ingredient quality as we ramp up new markets and brands
  • Build out our supply chain management team and develop more detailed KPIs to measure and improve our supply chain performance more accurately
  • Collaborate closely with purchasing and supply chain stakeholders in our local clusters from UK, BNLX, DACH, other European markets, and  ANZ in a matrix set-up
  • Develop our team of process owners and implement means to measure & improve process excellence  
  • Establish better process adherence across planning, ordering, receiving, and other supply chain processes
  • Design and implement more standardized ways of working and foster a culture of continuous improvement
  • Develop and grow the existing teams in order to successfully manage a multi-billion sourcing network with state-of-the-art strategies, processes, and tools
  • Work closely with our SCM Tech Team and our SCM Analytics Team to further improve our tool landscape
  • Identify and implement state-of-the-art tools for better strategic sourcing and supplier management. Leverage the next level of cost and continuous improvement potentials and ensure the implementation of projects with sustainable bottom-line impact 
  • Help building the world's most successful online food company supply chain and supplier network
What you’ll bring
  • An exceptional academic record with a degree in Engineering, Business, Analytics or a related field
  • Ideally 5+ years of leadership experience at a retailer or FMCG Company
  • Ideally 3+ years of experience at a top-tier management consulting firm
  • In-depth experience with strategic procurement and supply chain operations
  • Proven ability to effectively motivate, develop, and manage a high-performing team including leaders of leaders
  • Extensive experience in leading large, distributed teams across multiple locations, with a focus on promoting collaboration and team unity
  • Strong drive to work towards harmonized ways of working, displaying a clear understanding of global procurement strategies and their implementation
  • Track record of impactful cost-reduction and quality control initiatives in combination with a project management skill set
  • Demonstrated experience with process optimization, with a proven ability to identify inefficiencies and implement effective solutions
  • Exceptional data-driven decision-making skills, with experience in utilizing data analysis and metrics to address business needs and inform strategic planning
  • Hands-on approach to problem-solving, and demonstrating initiativeExcited to work in a fast-paced, start-up-like environment with a high level of ambiguity and change but quick decisions, and a lot of room for big impact
  • Work from Berlin with the willingness to travel to our local operations in London, Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen & Sydney  for at least 20% of the time
