Warehouse Lead
Shift Times: 7:30am-5:30pm Thursday to Monday
Location: 3520 Laird Road, Mississauga, Ontario
About the Role
The Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for leading the daily operations of the warehouse to ensure accurate and timely receiving processes as well as inventory and stock control with maximum efficiency. The Team lead must also strive to meet all set KPI’s for the Operations of the warehouse.
What you will be doing:
- Organize and maintain inventory and stock control.
- Ensure that the storage areas and warehouse is kept clean and tidy, which includes identifying areas where processes could be improved, and work practices amended.
- Supervises and reviews all receiving, inventory, staging, and shipping activities performed by warehouse team; maintains a high degree of visibility and access to employees on warehouse floor
- Understands and ensures strong compliance of standard processes
- Leads by example and trains, motivates, coaches, rewards, and disciplines crew being supervised
- Assist the Warehouse Supervisor to ensure smooth operation of warehouse systems, equipment and machinery and arrange for maintenance and repair work as needed.
- Ensure accurate proper and timely reporting of data to generate established KPIs
- Continuously develops employees by coaching and providing insightful feedback. Document progress and ensure associates are cross trained to provide adequate coverage in key processes
- Provide daily updates on receiving status, issues, and projects
- Participate in decision-making processes involving receiving challenges and continuous improvements
- Work in compliance with OH&S acts and regulations.
- Use personal protective and safety equipment and clothing as directed by the employer and report workplace hazards and dangers to the supervisor or employer.
- Other duties as assigned.
At a minimum, you have:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, or relevant experience.
- Minimum 1-3 years of warehouse experience in a food processing, manufacturing or service industry
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite (Calendar,Gmail,Docs,Sheets) and video conferencing (Hangouts, Google Meet)
- Experience with Inventory management and control
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbal and written.
- Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Certification is required
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Willing and able to work in a refrigerated environment (0°C to 4°C)
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time including regular squatting, bending, twisting and walking
- Flexible to work overtime, on weekends, evenings and holidays, as required
