Elastic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Web Platform team, working on our flagship website, Elastic.co. This full-stack role focuses on building and maintaining scalable web applications, services, and infrastructure that power exceptional user experiences. You'll work collaboratively with a distributed team of engineers, designers, and product managers, contributing to both frontend and backend systems while mentoring junior team members and helping drive technical excellence across the platform.

• Develop and maintain full-stack features for Elastic.co using Next.js, React, TypeScript, and backend technologies in the Node ecosystem
• Build data integration workflows, content management features, and web services with moderate complexity
• Contribute to frontend development creating responsive, accessible user interfaces
• Collaborate with design teams to implement user experiences that balance design vision with technical feasibility
• Own small to medium-sized components and features, working with some guidance from senior engineers on complex problems
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and learning from senior team members
• Contribute to API design and data architecture decisions within your areas of ownership
• Help identify and address technical debt in systems you work on
• Work closely with SRE teams on deployment processes, monitoring, and infrastructure optimization
• Participate in on-call rotation, learning to investigate beyond runbooks and drive incident resolution
• Collaborate and build relationships across teams
• Contribute to team planning processes and help break down project work

• 3+ years of full-stack development experience with modern web technologies
• Experience with frontend technologies like React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and CSS
• Familiarity with backend development using Node.js, APIs, and database systems
• Understanding of web fundamentals including HTTP, REST APIs, and responsive design
• Experience with version control (Git), testing practices, and CI/CD workflows
• Familiarity with content management systems or headless CMS architectures
• Ability to work independently on well-defined tasks while seeking guidance on ambiguous problems
• Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a distributed team environment
• Interest in mentoring others and contributing to a positive team culture
• Commitment to writing clean, maintainable code

• Experience with Next.js, Express, or other Node.js frameworks
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), containerized applications, and infrastructure as code (Terraform)
• Understanding of performance optimization techniques
• Experience with design systems and component libraries
• Knowledge of testing frameworks and methodologies
• Experience with Elasticsearch or other search technologies
• Understanding of web accessibility standards
• Contribution to open-source projects
