As the Real Estate & Workplace Specialist at Databricks, you will steer the operations of our Berlin office, a crucial hub for our EMEA operations. Your role involves crafting and implementing strategies that enhance operational efficiency and support Databricks’ rapid regional expansion. You will be entrusted with the development of office policies, the promotion of employee engagement, and the initiation of sustainability efforts, ensuring our workspace not only supports but also drives our business objectives. You will manage vital third-party relationships, and provide a foundation for our projected growth. You may travel to other office locations within the EMEA region, enabling you to integrate and harmonize practices across our offices. Reporting directly to the Regional Real Estate and Workplace Manager, your leadership will influence the innovation and development of Databricks in the EMEA region.

 

The impact you will have:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service 
  • Coordinate support for internal events/training/hackdays and planning company happy hours.
  • Oversee front of house activities such as: visitor and access management, food and beverage programs, post room activities,  and office supply management.
  • Guide all facilities and workplace operations to achieve an environment which manifests and deepens company culture in our workplaces.
  • Work as a part of the REW team follows standards and important measures to ensure a high level of support. Ensure a coverage model that supports daily facilities requests are completed. 
  • Maintain relationships with team members (EA’s, team leaders) and partner teams (HR, IT, Finance and property management) and external vendor services to ensure quality solutions
  • Work on special projects as a part of the global REW team.
  • Help develop operational processes such as: regular office maintenance programs- housekeeping, patch and paint, and safety equipment

What we look for:

  • At least 2 year Facilities and Hospitality experience with responsibility for operations and service delivery.
  • Fluent in German and English 
  • Expertise in developing and delivering messages engagingly, with a focus on crafting thoughtful and well-structured office communications
  • Demonstrate a experience with organising, prioritising, and overseeing projects and tasks concurrently
  • Solid foundation in interacting with and managing client relationships
  • Capability in overseeing financial strategies and managing budgets
