Workplace Technology Engineer
As a Workplace Technology Engineer, you will work on projects, support a variety of technology solutions, and maintain and improve the systems and tools that our employees use daily. This role will require a mix of software engineering and systems engineering skills, as you will help select, build, and operate the applications and services that enable our employee productivity.
Our Workplace Technology team supports a broad range of SaaS services, including many of the tools our employees use daily. Some of these include Google Workspace, Slack, Atlassian, plus a variety of other solutions
What you'll do:
- Implement modern workplace technology solutions that meet the specific needs of our employees, enhancing their productivity and collaboration.
- Lead and contribute to projects related to employee productivity, collaborating with other engineering teams and internal stakeholders
- Maintain and operate robust and reliable technology services, assisting with the development and maintenance of business continuity plans to ensure seamless operations during disruptions.
- Participate in refining operational metrics, and enhancing systems for monitoring service health and performance.
- Develop technical expertise in specific areas relevant to workplace technology (e.g., collaboration/productivity technology, security, endpoint management, end user compute etc).
- Provide expert guidance and troubleshooting for complex technical issues related to supported platforms.
Recommended Experience:
- Experience supporting cloud based and SaaS application, including Google Workspace, Slack, Atlassian products etc
- Experience with public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Knowledge of various IT systems including email, document storage, networking, identity, device management, VDI
- Knowledge of and the ability to perform troubleshooting on browser based applications
- Experience writing web-based applications or automating tasks in any language (Go, Python, Node/JavaScript, TypeScript, React)
- Knowledge of best practices around data security and identity management
- Strong documentation skills with an eagerness to teach others
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of the Google Workspace Developer tools including Apps Script and Google Workspace APIs
- An interest in GenAI tools that can increase employee productivity
