Position Overview:

This role supports fund accounting and financial reporting across U.S. and international jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with GAAP, SEC, and global regulations. Responsibilities include preparing NAV reports, managing audits, coordinating tax distributions, and overseeing regulatory filings. The position also leads performance measurement for SPW funds and supports risk management, credit facility compliance, and special projects. Ideal candidates have 2–6 years of accounting or audit experience, strong Excel and communication skills, and a background in investment company accounting. A CPA and familiarity with the 1940 Act are preferred.

Essential Functions:

This hands-on, detail-oriented position will:

  • Assist team with oversight of all semi-annual financial reporting and compliance with GAAP, SEC, and international rules (Luxemburg and US). Prepared with use of Workiva (cloud-based software).
  • Understand trial balance activities including income, expenses (including management & incentive fees), shareholder redemptions, valuations, currency implications, tax accruals and dividend distributions
  • Prepare monthly internal and external NAV reports
  • Summarize data, review and provide oversight for Fact Card preparation
  • Assist with preparation of quarterly commentary and Manager Discussion & Analysis
  • Assist with preparation of board materials
  • Assist in audit coordination, audit query resolution and preparation of financial statements
  • Assist tax advisor with calculation of quarterly fund distributions
  • Review, improve and execute policy and procedure updates for Fund Accounting team
  • Oversight of Sarbanes Oxley process
  • Ensure fund compliance with relevant regulatory bodies (i.e. IRS, SEC, CSSF, etc.) for 40 Act Funds and international Funds in Lux, Australia and Cayman
  • Confirm compliance with investor side letters
  • Perform risk management on regular basis, assessing current known information
  • Manage Credit Facilities (asset coverage) compliance program
  • Managing RIC tests
  • Support jurisdictional tax and other regulatory reporting requirements
  • Assist with conforming Prospectus and Offering Memorandum filings across US, Lux, Australia and Cayman
  • Lead the performance measurement function for SPW funds
  • Provide timely and regular performance analysis
  • Assist with the design and implementation of performance dashboards to summarize current portfolio positioning and historical performance
  • Ensure deliverable deadlines are monitored and achieved
  • Assist with ad hoc special projects including fund launches, liquidations, data requests, etc.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Must possess a four-year college degree with a major in Accounting
  • Two to six years of accounting or audit experience
  • Previous experience with Investment Company Accounting and ASC 820 (FAS 157) preferred
  • An understanding of SEC regulations, with a particular focus on the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 (“40 Act”) preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Excel experience
  • Ability to multi-task and manage priorities against key deadlines
Other Attributes:
  • Must be able to work independently, but contribute in a team-oriented environment
  • CPA preferred
