About the role 

The AVP Solutions Engineering will build, manage, develop, and lead an organization of Solutions Engineers and leadership focused on coverage, technical depth and scale for the HashiCorp APJ region. This is a senior management role with a broad remit of managing the technical health and growth of the region reporting directly to the SVP of Technical Field Operations.

The key objective of this role is to create, innovate and lead of the entire technical GTM in APJ. This includes the value creation of the SE organization across the entire customer lifecycle from technical validation to consumption and expansion. The ideal candidate would have operated in a SaaS environment that goes to market in a direct and indirect model.

In this role, you can expect to...

  • Lead the APJ technical strategy thru the various regional SE teams to achieve growth and renewal revenue and pipeline development goals in partnership with sales leadership
  • Own the customer journey and engage in the technical moments that matter where a customer requires engagement from the technical teams. This may be a direct engagement or via another partnering organization to provide maximum value,
  • Provide technical guidance on sales best practices to ensure success of the customer post deal close
  • Provide thought leadership with respect to market trends and HashiCorp’s value proposition in the marketplace
  • Deploy a data-driven, systems thinking approach to improving our business processes including hiring, presales engagements, technical go to market assets, demo and workshop infrastructure, etc.
  • Communicate regional priorities and trends to stakeholders in sales and SE leadership, product management, marketing, etc.
  • This role will also be responsible for influencing strategic decisions across APJ.

You may be a good fit for our team if you have...

  • An accomplished Solutions Engineering Leader with 5+ years of enterprise SaaS selling and geo-diverse staff management experience.
  • Third line leadership experience is preferred. Must have managed teams 100+
  • Technical leadership in at least one of HashiCorp’s influence areas (Infrastructure Lifecycle Management or Security Lifecycle Management).
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter and comfortable in a fast-moving, results-driven environment
  • Successful track record of defining and executing strategic and innovative projects which have had major impact on company performance
  • Experienced and strong supporter of DevOps methodologies
  • Comfortable with geo-focus while engaging globally across the Technical Field Organization. 
  • Comfortable operating in a continuous improvement culture that scales
  • Strong understanding of current and emerging technologies such as cloud computing, distributed systems, automation, fault tolerant systems, and/or orchestration software
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills including the ability to present ideas on both technical and business elements 
  • Critical thinking on achieving measurable goals. 
  • Strong strategic thinking ability and demonstrated business acumen
  • Residency within the assigned region
