ABOUT THE ROLE:

Liftoff is seeking a Billing Lead that will help in the development of a world-class receivables operation. This person will work collaboratively with various teams, including Corporate Accounting, Commercial Finance, Deal Desk, Sales, and Customer Success. They will ensure that customers are billed properly and on time, payments are collected, and account reconciliations are managed. Your attention to detail, adaptability, and process improvement skills will ensure we can provide a great customer and billing experience, while supporting Go-To-Market and Revenue initiatives.

The Billing Lead will be part of the Accounting Organization and report directly to the Accounts Receivable Manager. Location:

This role is eligible for remote-first work in the Pacific & Mountain time zone.

● US office locations: Redwood City (HQ), San Francisco, Los Angeles, Remote California.

Responsibilities:

● Coordinate daily billing operations and partner with accounting on revenue recognition best practices to ensure precise billing.

● Assist with the creation and review of our invoices on day 1 every month across multiple Business Units.

● Own completeness and review of all pre-billing activities from opportunity creation to onboarding new customer to our Netsuite ERP

● Map new campaigns generated by our Liftoff platform into our billing systems on a weekly basis.

● Review and approve Salesforce “Makegood” credits submitted by account executives and process into our Netsuite ERP.

● Own the management and processing of rebate discounts negotiated between our customers and deal desk teams (PPP Agreements).

● Communicate with customers and address any disputes or issues related to billing and collections through our inboxes.

● Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance billing efficiency and accuracy.

● Help implement new technologies to streamline billing operations and enhance the customer experience.

● Work closely with senior leaders to prepare financial reports and analysis on AR.

Requirements:

● 5+ years of experience in billing operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.

● 5+ years of progressive responsibilities in the tech industry.

● Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

● Intermediate or advanced Excel skills required (Pivot Tables, Index Match, Sum If, etc.).

● Experience with Netsuite, Salesforce, Tesorio, Looker, Tableau, or other leading AR/GTM platforms is a plus.

● Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment including ability to remain flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient while interacting with internal and external stakeholders.

● Experience in solving multiple and complex challenges through critical thinking and cross-functional collaboration.

● Strong quantitative and analytical skills.

● Extremely organized with good project management skills.

● Comfortable with creating new processes from scratch.

● Strong attention to detail, deadline driven, with strong organizational skills, and understands big picture concepts.

● Senior presence with thoughtful, articulate communication style adaptable to the audience.

● Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

In order to ensure teams are compensated fairly for the work performed, we map out specific levels and take into consideration the cost of labor within each location. Liftoff provides employees a total compensation package of competitive market salaries, equity, health and wellness stipends, medical benefits associated with your country of residence. The base compensation will vary based on location, experience as well as level.
