Manager, Lead of Canada/EU Business Trends

This is a hybrid position located in Boston.

Who We Are

Business Trends works with Wayfair's most senior leadership and all business functions in identifying, monitoring and intervening on metric trends which drive Revenue and long-term Customer Lifetime Value (CLV). We analyze trends and build a narrative on Wayfair's absolute performance and relative to competition on both a short-term tactical, as well as a longer-term strategic basis. Our output allows Wayfair’s senior leaders to quickly understand drivers of performance and triage issues in real-time. Business Trends adds value by: 1) driving long-term CLV by unifying the org around Wayfair’s customer value proposition, tracking input metrics related to those, and driving interventions if customers are not reacting to improvements or if we observe deviation from normal (short- and long-term) trends; and 2) influence partner teams to devote resources to areas of the business we need to further improve to advance overall business performance and share taking.

We are looking for a Manager to lead Trends for Canada and the EU, working directly with commercial leaders in both geos. The leader will be responsible for diagnosing overall business performance and building the narrative. In this role, you will not only tightly partner with the Canadian and EU commercial leadership including the GMs of Canada and the EU, Marketing, Pricing and Ops, but also work tightly with the wider Business Trends STO including our Data Engineering team in order to further build out self-service reporting.

What You'll Do

  • Own the weekly performance narrative for Wayfair.ca, Wayfair.de and Wayfair.co.uk and organize partner teams to contribute to the respective weekly steering decks.
  • Make connections between wayfair.com and Canada/EU trends, highlighting commonalities and differences.
  • Contribute to the Business Trends STO roadmap.
  • Build and manage trackers through Google’s Looker connected sheets which will help Business Trends and cross-functional partners monitor trends.

  • As part of above, contribute to the development of the monthly Trends Council narrative together with your peers and the Head of Business Trends. The monthly Trends Council is a wide group of Directors+ and the main deliverable is a high level read out informing about key themes leaders need to be aware of with regards to business performance.
  • Collaborate closely with Business Trends Data Engineering with regards to defining additional needs for metrics & dimensions in the Business Trends Curated Data Layer.
  • Work with a wide group of stakeholders, both regularly and ad hoc, in validating data insights and assisting in building hypotheses for possible interventions in the case of trend deviations.

What You'll Need

  • 2-4 years of work experience in analytical, consulting, technology, startup, or strategy roles
  • Bachelor’s degree from top-tier institution with a strong academic record in economics, math, statistics, engineering, business or related field is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills – ability to develop analytical hypothesis and assumptions, use data software to conduct analyses, and synthesize findings
