About us:

We’re here to make money work for everyone and we're doing things differently. For too long, banking has been obtuse, complex and opaque.

We want to change that and build a bank with everyone, for everyone. Our amazing community suggests features, test the app and give us constant feedback so we can build something everyone loves.

We're focused on solving problems, rather than selling financial products. We want to make the world a better place and change people's lives through Monzo.

What you’ll be working on:

Monzo is increasingly working with 3rd parties to support its growing aspirations. You’ll be responsible for steering Monzo’s third party strategy across a wide range from technology vendors to strategic partners.

You will lead our Procurement and Third Party Risk teams, preparing this critical operational risk and multi hundred million pound spend area to be public company ready.  You will partner closely with our collectives to identify and support their priorities. We have the foundations in place, and the right candidate will help take this effort to the next level.

Your day-to-day:

  • Partner with collectives to identify third parties that can further business objectives - such as those that can accelerate our growth, reduce our cost, or enhance our capabilities.
  • Coach and lead the procurement and third party risk teams to help us achieve public company readiness, and partner with the business to achieve the right business outcomes efficiently and in control
  • Provide strategic supply base management including third party selection, negotiations and supplier relationship / performance management
  • Develop strong relationships with key external partner contacts to help the organisation
  • Drive initiatives to optimise costs across the supply chain while maintaining quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, and operations, to align procurement strategies with broader organisational goals.
  • Develop and implement robust risk management strategies to safeguard the organisation's interests in third-party partnerships.

You should apply if you:

  • Have a demonstrated track record of implementing substantial third party arrangements
  • Possess a blend of commercial awareness, analytical and creative thinking and a strategic mindset
  • Have a good understanding of business operations, finance, sales and marketing tactics and market conditions
  • Possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to engage with senior executives within Monzo and at large partners
  • Are an experienced manager and talent developer
  • Have the proven ability to lead and manage change in a dynamic and evolving environment.

The interview process:

Our interview process involves 4 main stages:

  • 30 minute call with a Monzo recruiter
