Okta’s Total Rewards organization delivers comprehensive support to Okta employees and leaders, including driving the strategic planning, design, development, implementation, and communication of competitive total rewards programs including annual rewards and global compensation and benefits budgets. We build and maintain reward structures to ensure our people are fairly and competitively paid.  

Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Compensation, with a dotted line reporting to the Senior Director, Global Benefits, you will lead the development and implementation of compensation and benefit structures, programs, processes, and guidelines for the Asia Pacific region. The role will be based in India. The hiring managers are based in the US.

Compensation:

    • Collaborate with the recruiting team on offer compensation assessments for both external and internal hiring.
    • Serve as a regional compensation advisor to local leaders, aligning programs with business goals and supporting talent initiatives.
    • Conduct analysis of compensation programs for internal equity, external market competitiveness, and legal compliance.
    • Ability to analyze market data from salary survey vendors and prepare recommendations to update salary ranges and compensation guidelines based on regional needs and Okta’s global rewards strategies.
    • Provide recommendations on salary structures, bonuses, and incentive programs to attract and retain talent include sales and non-sales employees.
    • Monitor government regulations, legislation, and market trends.
    • Offer guidance and training to the People & Places community, managers, and employees.
    • Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in compensation and benefits and recommend innovative solutions to enhance the company's offerings in the region
    • Coordinate projects to streamline administrative processes associated with Compensation and Benefits.
    • Partner with regional payroll to ensure processes are operating smoothly.
    • Conduct ad-hoc analyses to evaluate and recommend pay adjustments to maintain internal equity and external competitiveness.

 

Benefits:

    • Manage the implementation and administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellbeing initiatives.
    • Conduct market research and benchmarking to ensure that our benefits offerings are competitive within the local market and industry standard.
    • Stay updated on relevant legislation and industry best practices to ensure compliance with local, state, and statutory regulations.
    • Utilize Workday and ServiceNow tools to gather, analyze, and report on  benefits data.
    • Maintain operational excellence and relationships with benefits vendors and service providers, including insurance carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators.
    • Generate regular reports for management to track key metrics and make informed decisions.
    • Manage global Paid Holiday calendar, work with teams to approve and post on relevant platforms.
    • Review billing invoices for accuracy and ensure timely payment.
    • Manage, update, and maintain accuracy of information on the Global Rewards website.
    • Manage Benefits broadcasting i.e. emails, webinars, arranging support with AV teams, maintaining and coordinating calendars of Benefits events.
    • Maintain Benefits team’s global projects portfolio in SmartSheets.

Manage and deepen partnerships with key regional partners that will enrich our thinking and programs with industry insights and ensure that our programs remain competitive  

 

What you will bring to the table

Degree in any related discipline with a minimum of 8 years in regional C&B role in a multinational environment.

Understanding of compensation fundamentals such as writing job descriptions and reviewing job leveling, global salary surveys (specifically AON Radford or Mercer Comptryx), analyzing large amounts of data using Excel or G-sheets.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data, draw insights, and make data-driven recommendations.

Experience designing and implementing compensation and benefits programs in a multi-region or global organization preferred

In-depth knowledge of Indian labor laws, tax regulations, and market compensation practices.

Hands-on team player with strong analytical skills.

A highly metrics-focused orientation that can effectively communicate technically complex information.

Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google and Workday.

Demonstrated success in a dynamic, fast-paced and frequently changing environment.

Efficiently manage current programs, challenge the status quo, and champion new initiatives.

A consummate team player who builds highly effective professional relationships and can effectively work with and communicate across multiple levels and functions of the organization.

Strong work ethic; Holds self and others accountable for achieving required outcomes.

An established track record of building credibility and trust across the organization, candid communication, high integrity, sound business ethics and judgment.

Able to quickly learn a company’s priorities and translate them into actionable solutions.
