CONFIGURATION SPECIALIST

The Configuration Specialist is responsible for auditing rockets and other products as-built configuration records to ensure that the data accurately reflects the as-designed intent of the hardware.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Engineers from various disciplines (Vehicle/Propulsion/Avionics/Manufacturing/Build Reliability) to understand the as-designed product structure
  • Use business systems to traverse the as-designed and change incorporation intent
  • Identify configuration discrepancies within the as-built data
  • Investigate configuration discrepancies, record the investigation findings, and document the acceptance authorization
  • Ensure clear communication to the business, and if necessary facilitate the resolution of configuration disputes
  • Use experience to identify opportunities to improve the CCM business system tools and related processes

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two years of product change management and/or production planning and control experience

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Configuration management and/or manufacturing engineering or production planning experience
  • Must be willing to work overtime or weekends as needed
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with Engineering and Production
  • Able to adapt to constant changing work assignments and fast paced work environment
  • Excellent concentration and attention to detail with outstanding work efficiency and accuracy

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work flexible hours and occasional weekend support as needed to meet critical deadlines
  • Ability to pass Space Force / Air Force background checks for Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg
  • Ability to travel to vendors and other SpaceX sites as needed     

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:    

Pay range:    Configuration Specialist/Level 1: $30.00 - $38.00/hour    Configuration Specialist/Level 2: $34.00 - $43.00/hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
