This is a great opportunity to be a part of an organization with an outstanding product and culture. We are seeking an experienced Design System Owner with expert visual design skills and technical acumen to take our design system to the next level. You will champion the development, maintenance, and management of LM's design system and ensure that LM's global UI and platform experience is highly intuitive, accessible, cohesive, and visually compelling.
Working in tandem with the design team, product managers, engineering, technical writing, and other stakeholders you will define the design language, principles, processes, and standards that guide the design of the LM Platform to speed delivery and maximize quality. Make your mark helping the design and dev teams deliver cohesive design quickly, maximizing component and code reuse and reducing the learning curve for customers.
Expert visual design skills are a must for this position.
Here's a closer look at this key role:
- Develop and maintain the design system ensuring it reflects human centered design principles, best practices in UI and interaction design and visual design.
- Establish design standards, principles, patterns, and guidelines for the product that maximize code reuse, scalability, efficiency, and consistency. This includes defining guidelines for interaction patterns, visual styles, typography, color palettes, accessibility, and other relevant aspects.
- Design, test, and document global UI components in partnership with the design team, product, dev, and docs teams ensuring they are added to the design system.
- Work very closely with cross functional partners and design team to ensure the design system, component library, documentation, and governance help them deliver faster and more effectively.
- Documentation and Education: Document the usage instructions, design patterns, principles, and guidelines for the system and ensure designers and developers are able to effectively leverage the system. Conduct workshops, training sessions, or provide resources to help teams understand and adopt the design system.
- Iterate and improve the design system over time, incorporating feedback from users and customer-facing teams and addressing any gaps.
- Ensure DS updates can be incorporated into existing UX design files as seamlessly as possible, requiring as little effort as possible from designers to get their prototypes up to date.
- Evaluate and incorporate new features of the design tools into the DS library components and then educate the team in their use.
- Manage the backlog and prioritize work in partnership with design, dev, and product leadership.
- Establish and manage versioning and distribution of the design system components. Establish a process for version control, managing the component libraries, and coordinating with design and dev teams to implement updates effectively.
- Create strategy for future UI redesigns.
- Act as a "glue" collaborating effectively in remote agile "Product Trio" teams (Design, Dev, and Product).
- Continuously improve your knowledge of UX best practices, business goals, and seek opportunity to add value to the business and team.
- Demonstrated experience managing and scaling a design system for a SaaS application
- Minimum 6-8 years experience leading complex UX work with cross-functional teams
- Portfolio or work and case studies that demonstrates expert UX, interaction design, and visual design skills
- 1-3 years experience with Figma, ability to make components, styles, layouts, patterns, workflows, prototypes, and iconography
- Basic understanding of web technologies like HTML/CSS/Javascript, able to build and deploy a simple website
- Experience with Agile process and working with remote teams
- High level of leadership, negotiation, communication, and project management skills are a must

LogicMonitor believes in pay transparency, so we provide the base salary ranges for all of our jobs in the United States. Actual base salary offered will vary depending on factors including but not limited to: location, education, experience, skills, and qualifications. As part of our holistic compensation philosophy, LogicMonitor also offers many competitive elements in our total compensation package for US employees, such as bonus or commission compensation in addition to the base pay, an equity program for all full time employees, 401K matching, and other rewards.
Base Salary Range$124,950—$171,885 USD
