Toast is driven by building the restaurant platform that helps restaurants adapt, take control, and get back to what they do best: building the businesses they love. We’re seeking a Director for our Business Operations team. Reporting to the Vice President of Revenue Operations, this Director will lead a team to deliver high-quality results to our internal stakeholders and customers, fostering a culture of operational excellence in the critical Quote to Cash and Deal Desk process. This position can either be remote, onsite in one of our offices, or a hybrid of both.

  • Leadership:
    • Empower and motivate a high-performing team of Toasters, cultivating professional growth and a collaborative environment.
    • Establish and reinforce a clear vision and strategy for the team, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals.
    • Build influential relationships across business, sales, product, customer success, finance, risk, and technical teams to identify, develop, manage, and execute strategic initiatives.
    • Drive change through effective communication, empathy, and the ability to influence key business leaders and peers.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Coach and mentor the team to optimize customer interactions, improve processes, and champion best practices.
    • Proactively address and resolve customer escalations, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
    • Analyze and simplify complex information to develop scalable solutions that drive operational efficiency and enhance the customer experience.

Do you have the right ingredients?*

  • 8+ years in an operational role, including 5+ years leading and developing a multi-layered team
  • Demonstrated experience in quote-to-cash processes, with expertise in managing quoting, contracting, and deal approvals
  • Driving leader closely involved in system transformations or system implementations 
  • BA or BS required, preferably in Finance, Operations, or a similar field
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce and a proven ability to leverage data to drive decision-making
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences, including senior management
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Track record of building and leading high-performing, diverse teams, fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture

Special Sauce:*

  • Hands-on experience with CPQ applications and solving quoting / order management related challenges in a SAAS environment
  • Experience with Netsuite, JIRA and Looker and similar technology
  • Experience working with Product/Project Management methodologies

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.Pay Range$135,000—$216,000 USD
