The Director, Product is responsible for the leadership of the Physical Product team driving the development, launch, and continuous growth of products across both HelloFresh and Chefs Plate.  Ultimately this role will drive the team that creates customer experiences and improves the commercial performance of the product.  You will rely on your ability to be highly collaborative and cross-functional, working throughout the business, from operations, to marketing, to tech, to procurement in order to get the work done.  This role will be a leadership role in the organization and will rely on your insight and ability to cut through challenges to lead HelloFresh and Chefs Plate into the future of the meal kit industry.

  • Lead the HelloFresh and Chefs Plate teams in developing compelling NPD roadmaps, gaining local and global signoff, and then executing with local and global teams
  • Engage with global stakeholders to align to enterprise ambitions and learn best practices from other markets
  • Lead a team of highly motivated and capable product professionals, helping them to grow and learn in their roles
  • Dive deep into the financials of the business to make decisions based on an understanding of the impact to the P&L
  • Work closely with the research team to uncover new consumer insights and then action them in the NPD plan
  • Support our Product Operations and Editorial teams to optimize their processes and create the best possible product experience for our customers
  • Be responsible for delivering a product plan for both brands that allows us to maintain our position as the leading Meal Kit company in Canada and expand our addressable market 
  • All other duties, as assigned 

Sound a-peeling? Here's what we're looking for

  • 8+ years’ experience within either a commercial FMCG role, such as brand / category management, or similar
  • Deep financial acumen, with a proven ability to use financial data to drive decisions
  • Proven experience in working with distributed technology teams to get your priorities on their backlog and executed in a timely manner
  • Outstanding project management skills, and the ability to keep multiple priorities moving forward at the same time
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to drive through product initiatives in a complex structure with global stakeholders
  • Confidence working with data to build business cases and make recommendations to the Canadian and global teams
  • A customer-centric mindset, including the ability to use data to identify unmet customer needs and pain points
  • A knack for creative thinking to develop solutions that solve our customers’ challenges
  • Proactive, ambitious, and assertive: you take ownership of your work and think beyond the scope of a given assignment
