What we’re looking for…

We are seeking a Director of Sales Engineering at ScienceLogic who will play an integral role in the sale of our enterprise class AIOPs platform. This person will handle managing all aspects of the sales engineering function. These include leading, recruiting, development and training a team of Sales Engineers living throughout the United States. The SE (Sales Engineer) Manager ensures technical and professional excellence in all technical aspects of the sales cycles performed by the Sales Engineering Team to contribute to our overall sales success.

What you’ll be doing…

 

  • Contribute to company success by making the SE organization more productive.
  • Lead, grow and mentor assigned Sales Engineering team. 
  • Supply leadership of pre-sales technical support for opportunities and accounts in the territory. 
  • Partner with sales team(s) to create and execute technical sales strategies for key accounts that align with customers' business strategies. 
  • Understand the customer's business model and help the team to find solutions that deliver compelling ROI (return on investment). 
  • Work with CSMs (Customer Success Manager) and professional services to ensure development and delivery of solutions that meet customers' needs. 
  • Collaborate to find and develop methods to improve the entire technical sales cycle from discovery phase, through qualification, Proof of Value, solution design and technical win. 
  • Collaborate with Sales management to decide proper resource allocation. 
  • Foster a culture that keeps and develops Sales Engineering team members. 
  • Ensure Sales Engineers have the tools, information and training required to be successful. 
  • Develop advanced understanding of competitive product and solution landscape and articulate tradeoffs between various competitive products.
  • Help define and manage sales engineering territories and compensation plans. 

 

 

Qualities you possess…

 

  • 7-10 years of experience in sales engineering, selling network/datacenter monitoring solutions to enterprise and managed service provider accounts. 
  • Prior management experience. 
  • Ability to present solutions via live presentations and remote webinars. 
  • Excellent communication and project management skills. 
  • Proven record of accomplishment in a customer-facing environment driving initiatives to improve customer satisfaction. 
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to set priorities and be flexible in a changing environment. 
  • Knowledge of networking, servers, storage, virtualization, unified communications, and cloud technologies. 
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%. 
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering/Computer Science or equivalent.
