The role

First and foremost, coding! Our Engineering Managers still contribute to the codebase on a daily basis. While the team mostly works in Ruby we’re comfortable with candidates skilled in similar languages who are willing to learn!

As a Engineering Manager at GoCardless, you'll be integral to our Operational Interfaces team working to streamline secure tooling for Merchant Operations.

You'll collaborate closely with Customer Support and other teams to innovate, maintain, and optimise our operational tools, marking a key role in operational efficiency for our merchants and internal users while ensuring robust security for the world's aspiring bank payments network.

We endeavour to build simple, reliable, and secure tooling and believe in using the most suitable technologies for each task. Joining the Merchant Operations Group, you’ll be working in a team that interacts with a diverse stack of technologies and services including Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Zendesk, and Google Cloud (GCP) with unique opportunities for greenfield projects.

This is an ideal opportunity for a strong technical leader looking to stretch into a more formal management position, collaborating as a dual-lead with the Product Manager, and gaining a lot of exposure to stakeholders across the business in London and Riga.

  • Professional experienced in coding - any Front end or Back end coding experience with a commitment to building reliable, well-tested systems.

Salary range - the expected base salary range for this position is between €6,700 and €8,100 (gross) depending on leveling in interviews.
