The Role: How you'll make an impact at Personio

This position can be office-based or fully remote from one of the following countries: Germany, Spain, Ireland, the Netherlands, or the UK.

In this position, you will take an active role in shaping our security engineering culture and protect the data of thousands of HR teams and organizations across Europe. You will have a direct impact on our security strategy, our users, our organization, and our engineering practices. 

The Security Organization is on a mission to empower the Product and Engineering team to ensure best in class security for Personio solutions, protecting customer data.

We do not trust, we verify. This is done by automating and validating security testing providing high signals on security findings, defining and supporting usage of security best practices across Personio.

Role Responsibilities: What you'll do

  • High-performing teams: Build driven and high-performing teams by focusing on the development of our engineers. You manage the capacity and ensure that the team is shipping impact.
  • Maximizing impact: Collaborate closely with stakeholders across Personio. Plan and execute the most impactful initiatives. Contribute to cross-functional projects inside the Security Organization. You are an enabler and multiplier.
  • Architecture: Work closely with your team to provide feedback on secure architecture and best practices. Enable your team to deliver cutting-edge technology, services and processes that raise the security maturity of our product and mitigate threats and vulnerabilities risks.
  • Engineering culture: Build and influence a culture of ownership, autonomy, and inclusivity, not just within your team but the whole department.
  • Technical excellence: Hone your cybersecurity and engineering skills to build operational and engineering excellence within your team that promotes and implements best practices.

Role Requirements: What you need to succeed

  • Over 3+ years of hands-on people management experience. You’ve managed and grown high-performing teams by focusing on the engineers' development and impact delivery.
  • Over 6+ years of cybersecurity experience, preferably in security engineering.
  • You have an ability to lead, cooperate and make decisions to push forward.
  • You are data driven in your decision-making.
  • Strong understanding and experience on SaaS product security architecture, vulnerability management and data security.
  • You have excellent technical and non-technical communication skills.
