At Lyft, our mission is to improve people’s lives with the world’s best transportation. To do this, we start with our own community by creating an open, inclusive, and diverse organization.

Since 2020, Lyft Mexico has been building its team and in May 2022, we opened an office in the heart of Mexico City. We have grown to nearly 200 team members across key business areas in the country, and we are looking to continue growing by providing team members with the best work experience.

The Infrastructure Operations Engineering team (InfraOps) aims to further an industry leading developer experience at Lyft, by providing top-notch developer support for infrastructure platforms and tooling. InfraOps engineers serve as experts in the products and services offered by the Lyft Infrastructure organization. They find solutions to problems with the products and help other engineers work through technical difficulties. Through their investigations, they contribute their insights and learnings to improve the platforms and tooling they support, and gather data to drive prioritization. InfraOps engineers make future support work easier by creating and scaling tools and processes.

As the Engineering Manager supporting the Infrastructure Operations Engineering team you will use your technical and customer support experience to lead a team of engineers in pushing the boundaries of developer support excellence. You will lead a team that is inclusive, helpful, and has a strong sense of ownership for the domains they support. The team looks to their manager for organizational transparency, career development, mentorship, and honest feedback. The team moves fast while supporting a broad spectrum of developers and use cases. • Instill a spirit of continuous improvement in the team’s processes and tools
  • Provide continuous feedback, address underperformance, and recognize the individual strengths and contributions of your team members
  • Work with your engineers and/or infra partners to maintain a prioritized backlog and create short term and long-term goals
  • Build a high performing team that is collaborative, inclusive, and respectful of each other
  • Work closely with the Lyft recruiting team to hire high potential candidates from diverse backgrounds
 Experience:
  • You have a technical background and are able to contribute to planning and design discussions
  • You have experience either as a technical support engineer or managing a support team
  • You are steadfastly focused on your customers, whether they are product developers you support or partnering Infrastructure teams
  • You have experience leading a team of engineers and guiding them through their career development
  • You believe in building both teams and processes that scale
  • You enjoy working in a collaborative environment, and you’re committed to driving projects to completion creatively
  • You can motivate and instill a strong sense of ownership in your team
  • You have experience guiding teams through planning, prioritization, and execution of work
  • You think ahead and build for the future
