Summary

MongoDB is hiring a Head of Regional HR covering Asia Pacific (APAC), based in Singapore. The role reports to the Chief People Officer and sits on the People Leadership Team. A team of 17 HR professionals will report up into this role & it partners approximately 1,000 employees in India, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, South Korea and China. This is a new role being created to support MongoDB’s continued growth and expansion.

The Head of Regional HR in APAC and their team will be the face of HR to the employees & leaders in the region. The team is responsible for providing full employee life cycle service delivery, in-region HR Business Partnering support to leaders, operationalization of our global Hybrid Workplace strategy in the region, regional compliance, policy & process enhancements and employee relations, all in partnership with appropriate global functions within the People Team. 

We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Singapore, to work in the office at least 3 days a week. 

Key Responsibilities
  • HR service delivery across the entire employee lifecycle in the region from onboarding to separation management in partnership with the rest of the People Team including Recruiting, Total Rewards, Culture & Development, and HR Operations
  • HR Business Partnering support to the leaders in the region, in close collaboration with the global HRBP Leaders and broader People Leadership Team
    • Works closely with the local leaders to understand their strategic goals, objectives, and challenges, and provide insights, guidance, and solutions related to organization, talent and culture, that align with the overall business & People strategy. 
    • Includes development of manager capability in region and recommending & supporting action planning against key HR metrics around attrition and engagement
  • Oversees in-Region compliance of HR and Recruiting policies, processes and programs as well as all employee grievance management (Employee Relations) in the region
  • Implement the Hybrid Workplace experience in the region in partnership with the Global Workplace leader to ensure a best-in-class employee experience anchored in the MongoDB Leadership Commitment
  • Responsible for managing and developing a team of HR professionals in the region
  • As a member of the People Leadership Team, this role is also responsible for  shaping the overall People strategy for MongoDB in partnership with peers and the CPO
Background & Experience
  • 10-15 years of progressive HR experience including HR Leadership, HR Operations and HR Business Partnering, ideally in a high growth and global business
  • Passion for & demonstrated expertise in driving operational excellence for a high growth and complex company. We are still building the bridge as we walk and we need someone who has the operational skills that are required to do that, and enjoys the exhilaration that comes with it
  • Ability to transform regional HR and business insights into strategic interventions in support of the leaders and employees in the region
  • Experience of managing and developing members of a diverse and regionally distributed team and the ability to drive performance and accountability
  • Ability to build trust with and ultimately influence senior leaders in the region on all matters related to people and culture in partnership with relevant global peers
  • Strong working knowledge of multiple employment laws and regulations in the region. Demonstrated ability to interpret and guide employment matters, manage grievances, disputes and investigations in alignment with local employment law and regulations. Ability to support expansion into new markets is a big plus
