About Product Experience (PX) team

We're a diverse group of creative people that love to learn, collaborate, and solve large-scale problems. We're looking for an inquisitive, curious, and talented Senior Product Designer to join our team.

Your work will impact and influence the user experience of a product used by millions of people daily. As a Lead User Experience (UX) Researcher, you will work closely with other designers, engineers, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders. While this is not a managerial role with direct reports, we expect our Lead UX researcher to lead by example and coach the team into doing their best work.

In this role, you would be part of the Product Experience team. We are seeking a researcher who is passionate about being customer-centric, skilled in communicating crisp research findings, and skilled in driving impact within a team and across an organization.

The right candidate will be equally skilled in facilitating thoughtful conversations with both internal stakeholders, customers, and research participants. Transforming those conversations into detailed research plans and actionable insights should be your focus.  Additionally, you should be able to speak in detail about human-computer interaction concepts and be able to explain the why behind your recommendations.

What you'll do
  • Consistently deliver complex UX research projects and assignments on time and to the highest quality, while coaching less experienced team members in their work.
  • Build internal networks to improve organizational navigation, speed and quality of UX research solutions.
  • Develop breakthrough ideas, techniques, practices, and resources to help the team improve capabilities and scale.
  • Work cross-functionally to align partners and stakeholders to project vision, mission and strategy.
  • Communicate complex ideas/issues in a manner that is easily understood by others.
  • Articulate a clear and elevating UX research strategy and direction across multiple cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Help align, focus and mobilize large cross-functional teams to achieve product strategies in the fastest, most effective and efficient manner possible.
  • Demonstrate innovative problem-solving when faced with complex and large-scale projects.
Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience
  • 10+ years working in professional UX research roles.
  • Experience conducting and setting direction for research across multiple products areas and departments and solving business problems at scale.
  • Expert in generative and evaluative research methodologies and skilled in coordinating and mentoring others across multiple projects and teams.
  • Fully adept with storytelling with data, storytelling styles, delivery mechanisms, tools, and visualizations and presenting to cross-functional teams, across an entire product organization, and with executives.
  • Experience publishing research studies either for internal or external audiences.
  • Experience with managing a complex workload and prioritizing in accordance with business priorities.
  • Experience coordinating the work of other researchers, vendors or agencies on a project
  • An online portfolio or work samples.

What Makes Cloudflare Special?

We’re not just a highly ambitious, large-scale technology company. We’re a highly ambitious, large-scale technology company with a soul. Fundamental to our mission to help build a better Internet is protecting the free and open Internet.

Project Galileo: We equip politically and artistically important organizations and journalists with powerful tools to defend themselves against attacks that would otherwise censor their work, technology already used by Cloudflare’s enterprise customers--at no cost.

Athenian Project: We created Athenian Project to ensure that state and local governments have the highest level of protection and reliability for free, so that their constituents have access to election information and voter registration.

Path Forward Partnership: Since 2016, we have partnered with Path Forward, a nonprofit organization, to create 16-week positions for mid-career professionals who want to get back to the workplace after taking time off to care for a child, parent, or loved one.

1.1.1.1: We released 1.1.1.1 to help fix the foundation of the Internet by building a faster, more secure and privacy-centric public DNS resolver. This is available publicly for everyone to use - it is the first consumer-focused service Cloudflare has ever released. Here’s the deal - we don’t store client IP addresses never, ever. We will continue to abide by our privacy commitment and ensure that no user data is sold to advertisers or used to target consumers.

Sound like something you’d like to be a part of? We’d love to hear from you!
