Join us! The GoFundMe team is searching for our next Manager, Security Engineering to support our AppSec and InfraSec teams. In this position, you’ll recruit, mentor, and grow an already solid team of security engineers dedicated to helping people help each other. 

The Job

  • Build & lead your team: Mentor and support security engineers, establishing scalable practices for security-focused engineering, design review, and consultation.
  • Drive execution: Coordinate with our organization TPM and the Director, Security Engineering, handle sprint planning, resource allocation, and risk management to deliver on individual, team, and organization goals.
  • Institute best practices: Champion CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and strong security postures from day one.

You 

  • 1+ years managing engineering teams, that can be formally-titled management or as a senior engineer or team lead.
  • 5+ years building scalable systems, with a track record of architecting security controls for new products.
  • Have a strategic mindset and are comfortable with ambiguity. You are able to scope broadly, make technical trade-offs, and pivot based on feedback.
  • Skilled at communicating technical plans to non-technical stakeholders and aligning diverse teams.
  • You thrive in fast-moving environments, relish solving novel problems, and take pride in turning rough ideas into lasting solutions.

Preferred

  • 5+ years designing and building secure systems with engineering teams
  • Experience with OWASP Top 10 and other industry standards
  • Experience with securing cloud infrastructure
  • Understanding of web application architecture and design principles
  • Prior experience working in a regulated environment
  • Experience in secure code review in languages such as: PHP, Python, Kotlin, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The total annual salary for this full-time position is $163,000 - $245,000 + equity + benefits.  As this is a remote position, the salary range was determined by role, level, and possible location across the US. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range based on your location during the hiring process.
