Production Coordinator (Starship)

PRODUCTION COORDINATOR (STARSHIP)
The Production Coordinator is a vital role to the success of Starship and SpaceX’s production teams. Production Coordinators work in support of all production leadership staff to ensure the on-time delivery of components and assemblies through: Execution of part movement, maintenance of physical inventory and adjoining electronic system, Developing and standardizing reports displaying inventory metrics, Effective communication with multiple teams (Supply Chain, Engineering, Production) across different levels and geographies (Hawthorne and Starbase), Continuous improvement of processes inherits to the role and across the production floor.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor, track, and move parts as required through the production flow to ensure timely delivery to next production location
- Coordinate physical movement of parts through receiving inspection, stock rooms, purchasing, production resources or any applicable work center within SpaceX
- Ensure parts are handled and protected properly and within SpaceX specifications
- Coordinate off-site processing of parts and shipments with vendors to ensure on-time delivery as required
- Support logistics process through innovative staging of workflow as required
- Resolve and maintain integrity of system data with stakeholders (Supply Chain, Engineering, and Production) to ensure production demand and schedules are accurate
- Analyze available data and develop metrics to drive optimal results
- Reconciliation of work order bill of material quantities
- Develop and maintain reports to highlight needs, deliverables, and constraints as required for internal and customer use
- Work with schedulers, production supervisors, and managers to ensure all metrics driven action requirements are completed
- Effectively communicate and escalate in multiple environments (verbal, email, chat, meetings) and audiences (Supply Chain, Engineering, and Production) catering communication to specific stakeholders
- Escalate issues constructively and timely for all impacts to production:
- Supply Chain - Part Shortages, PO delays, incorrect receipt of parts
- Engineering – Incorrect Bill of Materials per design, release of
- Support projects or productivity development activities within assigned production cells
- Interface with engineers and technicians on the release of work orders for build
- Maintain production schedules through the coordination of planning and shortage management in the production build
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 1+ years of experience in administrative, supply chain, inventory or manufacturing experience
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2+ years of experience handling parts in a manufacturing setting
- 2+ years of experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- 2+ years of Smartsheet
- Forklift experience
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic manufacturing environments
- APICS certification
- Able to work at elevated heights
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be willing to all shifts, overtime, weekends as needed
- Able to be mobile and on foot for extended periods
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
- Valid driver’s license
- Able to work in outdoor environments – heat, cold, etc.
- Able to work in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
- Able to and available for travel (up to 20% of time) to Starbase, Texas and other sites if needed
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Production Coordinator/Level 1: $20.00 - $23.00/hour
Production Coordinator/Level 2: $22.50 - $27.00/hour
Production Coordinator/Level 3: $25.00 - $30.00/hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
