Chewy is seeking a detail obsessed, self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Senior Accountant supporting our corporate accounting team based in our Plantation, Florida headquarters. What You’ll Do:

As a senior accountant, you will have the opportunity to take ownership, drive processes and support our business needs as we strive to exceed our customer’s expectations at every step. Being a member of this business-critical team will provide exposure to all areas of corporate accounting as you develop your career.   • Prepare general ledger entries and review key account reconciliations as part of month-end close
  • Take full ownership of key accounting areas with an ability to identify and resolve issues independently  
  • Extract and analyze operational/financial data from centralized databases using SQL, Tableau, and Oracle reporting
  • Review and analyze financial statements, business unit P&Ls, and key metrics 
  • Lead meetings with business partners to assess potential account risks ahead of month-end close  
  • Challenge current processes to find efficiency improvements while maintaining data accuracy and integrity 
  • Partner with key stakeholders across the business including Finance, Supply Chain, and Category Management to provide accounting guidance and support on cross-functional initiatives
  • Effectively communicate period-end results of assigned financial statement line items to senior leadership  
  • Assist internal audit in designing and implementing internal controls over accounting processes  
  • Prepare year-end and quarter-end audit schedules; liaise with external auditors 
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as required from the leadership team

What You’ll Need:

  • Ability to think creatively, self-start, work independently, deal with ambiguity, and meet tight deadlines / prioritize changing workloads
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Results-oriented mentality
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and working with large data sets
  • Strong technical accounting and financial analytical skills 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (i.e. Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/Index Match, SUMIFs, etc.)
  • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail 
  • CPA eligibility preferred

Bonus (if applicable):

  • Experience working with GL software, SQL, Tableau or Alteryx
