Where you’ll work:

At OVO, we understand that a one size fits all approach doesn’t work for everyone. That’s why we created the OVO Way of Flexibility.

Everyone belongs at OVO

At OVO, we are on a mission to solve one of humanity's biggest challenges, the climate crisis. And we know it takes all of us to change the world. That's why we need diverse people from all abilities, gender identities, ethnicities, ages, sexual orientations, life experiences and backgrounds to join us.

Teamworking for the planet

Everything we do here spins around Plan Zero. So, naturally, the team you’ll be joining plays a gigantic role in making that happen. Here’s how:

Working as Senior Product Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to transform digital experiences, platforms and tools and define the future of these products. These help our customers identify, pay for and use the right products for them, in a way that suits them.

You’ll build data-driven and hypothesis-led customer experiences, which deliver against our business strategy. You’ll experiment your way to fulfilling customer needs and providing value, and you'll often be found story-mapping, canvas-filling, needs-assessing, optimising, stakeholder-managing and test-and-learning. You’ll work closely with the Head of Product and other Product Managers across our domains too.

We’re looking for a candidate who can challenge how things are done currently, pushing themselves and others to innovate to improve their approach to problems.

This role in a nutshell:

OVO Retail encompasses everything from customer facing experiences to agent tooling; supporting our members and helping them on their journey to zero carbon by bringing them the right products, at the right time, at the right price. Our teams focus on shaping, defining and delivering the digital experiences for our millions of members and our internal team.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager to join our Transform, Operate & Run team in OVO Energy, leading on process orchestration. This team is one of four, who are driven by a vision to create innovative solutions to complex account health challenges for back office staff in the Energy Operations team.

We’re looking for someone to focus on owning and scaling a new platform to orchestrate and automate back office activity. You’ll have a team of engineers, and access to design, research and data science to support your delivery, with a close partnership with the Operations teams too. You’ll also work with other parts of the business, like other product teams, Kaluza and our energy industry third parties to challenge the status quo in creating market leading solutions.

Your key outcomes will be:

  • Building a process orchestration platform to improve Settlement and Industry Operations activities using software solutions and in collaboration with data scientists.
  • Working with the Product Lead, you will own the product vision, strategy and roadmap throughout a product lifecycle.
  • Proactively manage stakeholders to deliver the best outcomes for the business.
  • Embed customers at the heart of product decisions.
  • Use data to create hypotheses to test, identify and solve problems and to simplify complex customer experiences.
  • Use data and customer-centric product techniques to identify and solve problems, simplifying complex user experiences.
  • Communicate clearly and can deliver clear, professional, and confident presentations to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Focus on how to get ideas off the ground quickly - identifying the thinnest slice possible to get meaningful customer data.
  • Champion your product both in and outside your team - understand how it fits into the wider technology environment, how it will evolve, and inspire your team to do more.
  • Ensure that the solutions we’re building can translate to clear impact on business metrics.
  • Establish clear priorities and find ways of articulating them with your own team and the wider business.
  • Take an active role in our Product quarterly business reviews, sharing your successes and future plans with the leadership team and the wider OVO group.

You’ll be a successful Senior Product Manager here at OVO if you…

  • An accomplished and experienced product manager with a proven track record of delivering positive business outcomes.
  • Comfortable with the ambiguity that comes from working in a fast-paced environment, highly matrixed environment and adaptable to changing market needs
  • Experience in an operations automation or process orchestration focused product role and/ or of a highly regulated industry would be advantageous
  • You have a good understanding of Agile methods, cross functional working and development at different stages of the product life cycle.
  • Experienced using optimisation tools, journey analysis tools etc.
  • Comfortable working with leaders and team members alike.
  • Strong analytical skills, able to cut through opinions with data. You are tenacious and find that data you need.
  • Experienced in working in a matrixed organisation with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in the energy and/ or of a highly regulated industry would be advantageous
  • Experience digitising ‘offline’ customer experiences is a plus.
  • Are looking for autonomy and accountability to deliver great outcomes, while delivering value at the earliest opportunity.
  • Find new concepts easy to understand, and show the tenacity to keep asking the right questions.
  • Love sharing your skills and experiences with colleagues.
  • Recognise assumptions (including your own) and seek ways to try and validate them.
  • Know your strengths, yet recognise there’s always more to learn from others.
