What Does A Cabinetry and Home Renovation Designer Do?
- Take Lead on Cabinetry Projects: Create precise cabinetry designs, including custom solutions for kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and built-ins, utilizing 2020 Design Live or similar software. Review customer-provided sketches, blueprints, or planning guides to develop accurate measurements and design specifications.
- Share Technical Product Knowledge: Stay informed about cabinetry construction options (e.g., framed vs. frameless cabinets), materials (e.g., MDF, plywood, solid wood), and finishes (e.g., painted, stained, laminated) and educate customers about the benefits of cabinetry features, such as soft-close hinges, pull-out storage, and customizable configurations.
- Engage and Inspire Customers: Provide authentic, friendly customer experiences by understanding renovation needs, style, and customer budgets by conducting in-store, in-home, and virtual consultations. Offer recommendations that integrate cabinetry, kitchen design, and complementary product solutions.
- Guide Projects from Start to Finish: Manage end-to-end renovation projects for DIY customers and contractors, including product selection, mood boards, floor plans, and purchasing assistance. Support customers through the cabinetry purchasing process, from functional 3D renderings to placing orders and coordinating post-order services.
- Educate on Renovation Solutions: Keep up to date with current trends, materials, and finishes to inspire customers with innovative solutions. Leverage expertise to introduce customers to Wayfair's wide range of home renovation products, such as tile, flooring, kitchen, bath, and plumbing, while offering tailored design recommendations.
- Utilize Design and Sales Tools: Apply sales analytics, design software, and technical knowledge to create space plans, 2D/3D room views, and compelling presentations that drive store growth and profitability.
- Adapt to Dynamic Environments: Thrive in a fast-paced setting with rapidly changing products, promotions, and customer needs, maintaining a high level of focus and energy.
- Always Be Selling (ABS): You will pro-actively see each customer interaction as an opportunity to generate new design leads, build customer rapport, and generate new sales.
