THE ROLE

The FlashArray team builds the industry’s most innovative, high-performance, and highly available portfolio of products that are designed for the most demanding mission-critical applications. While we deliver a hardware storage array, over 90% of our engineering staff are software engineers. Our customers are the most important part of our business, and they love FlashArray for its simplicity of management, the constant flow of new and exciting upgrades, and the ability to live on the cutting edge of technology while never taking downtime, ever. Most recently, we extended the value of our FlashArray capabilities into the cloud with CloudSnap and Cloud Block Store for AWS. These new innovations enable our customers to leverage the agility of the public cloud for both traditional IT and cloud-native applications.

As a Software Engineer on the FlashArray team, you’ll shape the next generation of high-performance, always-available storage systems. You’ll drive innovation that simplifies how customers manage and consume data while operating at massive scale. Working closely with sharp, collaborative engineers, you’ll build technology that powers mission-critical workloads with unmatched reliability.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Design and implement creative new algorithms and technologies for high-performance, highly reliable systems (think six 9’s).
• Own and deliver innovation end-to-end, from concept to shipped product.
• Analyze and solve challenging problems through persistence and insight.
• Work as a team with smart peers who inspire you and who are inspired by you.
• Make customers really happy, because that’s why we do what we do.
• Learn a ton, whether you know a lot, or nothing about system software.
• We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Prague office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Strong experience building and delivering software across the full development lifecycle in Linux or UNIX environments.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, or C++, with the ability to design reliable and scalable applications.
• Ability to analyze complex system requirements: evaluating risks, performance characteristics, and reliability, to guide thoughtful design decisions.
• Depth in backend engineering, including concurrency, SQL, and API-driven architectures.
• Technical expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIs using industry best practices.
• A naturally curious, collaborative mindset with strong design sensibility and a drive to build high-quality systems with your team.
