Your mission

The Spectrum Engineer (all genders) is responsible for performing simulations of satellite communications systems and ensuring efficient use of spectrum by providing solutions for interference scenarios.This includes:

  • Prepare, modify and maintain the ITU filings that contain the technical specifications of NGSO satellite systems
  • Conduct technical analysis related to satellites and earth stations and support technical negotiations
  • Develop technical documents in the interest of Rivada for activities of ITU and other international/national organizations
  • Support technical teams to optimize spectrum use while complying with frequency coordination agreements and regulatory requirements
  • Support market access activities
  • Support business development team

What you bring on the table

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in telecommunications or electrical/electronic engineering or equivalent
  • Knowledge of RF communications
  • Basic understanding of satellite communications
  • Desire to learn how to model and simulate the constellation using basic orbital mechanics
  • Ability to imagine and implement creative algorithms on computer to solve challenging problems
  • Ability to present ideas and study results in a convincing manner
  • Ready to dive into the complexity of spectrum management with heavy technical documentation and a long learning curve.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to details
  • Knowledge of a programming language (e.g. Matlab, Python)
  • Good understanding of database queries
  • Self-motivated and able to work constructively in multinational and culturally diverse teams internally and externally
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Flexibility to travel
