About the job
This role will be responsible for overseeing the Marketing Operations function on the Segment Marketing team. The position is needed to develop a vision for the systems and processes that drive top of funnel growth, as well as down-funnel conversion via email and lifecycle programs for our database of prospects and customers. The position will also manage a small team of marketers. The ideal candidate has experience across a number of B2B marketing functions, and understands the systems and processes involved in nurturing leads from MQL to Opportunity creation.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Manage a team responsible for platform/campaign operations, and email marketing
- Partner with Marketing and SDR leadership to set a vision for pipeline operations
- Oversee the maintenance of the systems and processes that facilitate the efficient handoff of leads from Marketing to Sales
- Develop strategy to improve down-funnel conversion from email nurture/ lifecycle programs
- Gather qualitative feedback from Sales on prospect intent and lead quality to share with the Marketing team for further optimization
- Provide insight on technical aspects of key business systems (marketing automation, CRM, CDP) used to generate, distribute, and report on leads. Where applicable, make updates to those systems, or work cross-functionally with system owners.
- Create dashboards and data visualizations on funnel and campaign performance to share actionable insights across the company
- Develop processes for email production and QA, working closely with campaign managers to provide input on the campaign calendar
- Provide guidance on email performance and recommendations for testing and optimization
- Oversee management of Segment prospect database, providing insights for growth and strategy for maximizing value
- Navigate and prioritize cross functional stakeholders and requirements from partners in BizTech, Marketing Strategy, RevOps, and Customer Success

Required:
- 4+ years management experience
- Understanding of typical B2B Sales and Marketing funnels, definitions (MQL, SAL, etc) and processes
- Previous B2B SaaS Marketing, Marketing Operations or Email Marketing experience preferred
- Proficiency in CRM, marketing automation and data infrastructure systems such as Marketo, Salesforce, LeanData, FullCircle and Segment
- Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools such as Looker, Tableau and Google Analytics
- Strong analytical skills and experience with reporting and data analysis to provide recommendations to various teams and stakeholders
- History of collaborating with a Sales/ SDR team
- Understanding of the customer journey and ability to optimize for down-funnel conversion
- Experience overseeing A/B tests, with a focus on formulating a hypothesis, setting up tests and reporting on results

- Familiarity with the Segment product
- Marketo Certified Expert
Location
This role will be remote but is not eligible to be hired in San Francisco, CA, Oakland, CA, San Jose, CA, or the surrounding areas.
Travel

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

Based in Colorado: $123,520 - $154,400.

Based in New York, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $130,720 - $163,400.

This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
