Talent Analyst Co-Op

The Talent Analytics team drives Wayfair’s strategy to attract, retain, and develop world class talent. Co-ops will work closely with Wayfair leadership to improve the employee experience by leveraging data and insights to raise the bar on organizational effectiveness. Strong candidates will demonstrate sound business acumen, analytical skills, high EQ, and an eagerness to learn and grow.

What You’ll Do:

  • Scope, develop and manage end-to-end analyses (gather requirements, establish key metrics, test hypotheses) to address difficult business questions and improve the recruiter and candidate experience
  • Present analyses and insights to teams across Talent and the Business, 
  • Navigate our People Analytics platform (Visier) to answer questions and build customized views for various business leaders
  • Leverage or learn Good Big Query to extract and manipulate talent data for ad hoc requests and projects
  • Cultivate relationships and collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify opportunities and learnings, and create efficiencies through new tools and recommendations

Examples of past projects on this team include collecting and analyzing survey data, creating an infrastructure to aggregate and analyze recruiting data, and evaluating performance review cycle results.

Potential Teams for Placement include: 

People Analytics: drives Wayfair’s strategy to attract, retain, and develop world class talent by working closely with Wayfair leadership to improve the employee experience and raise the bar on organizational effectiveness

Compensation Analytics: uses a combination of internal and external data to drive compensation strategy for our employees across the globe. We model the financial and talent implications of compensation decisions; make recommendations for compensation strategy and processes based on findings. We research, gather, and analyze internal and external data to determine appropriate salary levels for jobs and positions across Wayfair. Most importantly, we communicate with managers and employees to drive understanding of our compensation philosophy.

Sales Compensation: responsible for design and administration of incentive compensation plans for Global Sales organization. Partners closely with Sales leaders to ensure incentives are aligned to drive value for our sellers, our customers, and for Wayfair.

 

What You’ll Need:

Basic Qualifications

  • To be a current Sophomore, Junior, or Senior student  pursuing an undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Math, Engineering, Computer Science, Business/Economics, Information Systems, Analytics)
  • The ability to commit to working 40 hours/week (9am-5pm, Monday-Friday) from July 8 to December 20, 2024 in our Boston office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong academic record, exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Creative and innovative approach to solving problems; a desire to understand talent business processes and make them better
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a demonstrated self-starter mentality
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Interest in working hard and being challenged in a fast-paced environment
  • Curiosity, a creative mindset, and the ability to quickly learn new technical tools 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive, people-oriented, and enthusiastic attitude
  • Proficient with advanced MS Excel/Google Sheets
  • Experience with a programming language (SQL, R, or Python) is a plus
  • Integrity, maturity, and respect to handle confidential and sensitive talent data
  • Demonstrated leadership through campus involvement; former internship, summer job, or co-op experience is preferred

Wayfair Co-Op Program Overview:

Based in Wayfair’s Boston headquarters, our co-op program is a six-month, full-time, paid program that runs twice annually in January to June and July to December. Through the co-op program, students have the opportunity to gain impactful professional experience in their major or career field of interest by fully integrating with Wayfair business units. While the majority of Wayfair co-ops join directly from an academic program, some co-ops join us from varying professional and academic backgrounds seeking a six-month professional experience. In addition to exciting project work, Wayfair co-ops have the opportunity to build their professional networks, take advantage of training offerings, and attend social events throughout the program.

An Important Note about Wayfair's In-Office Policy:

All Boston-based interns, Co-ops, and corporate employees will be in office in a hybrid capacity. Employees will work in the office Monday-Thursday and remotely on Fridays.
