Lincoln International is seeking a Talent Business Partner (HRBP) on a temporary, full-time basis. This opportunity is available immediately, and we anticipate an end date of May 30th, 2025.

Lincoln International follows a hybrid work structure with an emphasis on in office collaboration.Our employees work in our Chicago office Monday through Thursday each week, with the option to work remotely or from the office on Fridays. Our office is located at 110 N Wacker Drive, just blocks from Union Station & Ogilvie Transportation Center.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The Talent Business Partner position at Lincoln International provides an excellent opportunity to work in a demanding, yet supportive, team-oriented environment. Lincoln is seeking a Talent Business Partner to join the organization to serve as a liaison between the firm’s Talent team and designated business units.

Based in Chicago, Illinois, the Talent Business Partner will be accountable for interfacing with the Talent team to support talent-related needs within their designated business unit(s), including staffing and staff planning; onboarding and training; performance management; employee engagement and events; and other duties as assigned. More specifically, we envision the Talent Business Partner will be initially tasked with the following with respect to their designated business unit(s):

  • Support staffing and staff planning, including identifying hiring needs, supporting workforce planning and tracking promotion and succession planning
    • Monitor and manage staffing ratios based on current and projected staff levels
    • Track utilization, average projects per person and hours per project to flag inefficiencies or capacity constraints amongst staff
    • Interface with Talent Acquisition team and Business Unit Leaders to make recommendations on hiring needs relative to staff levels and expected promotions / successions
    • Interface with business unit staffer(s) to identify staff with capacity for new projects
    • Assist in tracking and managing vacation times within the business unit(s)
  • Ensure successful onboarding of new joiners within designated business unit(s)
    • Manage and lead group-specific sessions and content for new joiner onboarding
    • Liaise with Business Unit Leaders to ensure onboarding training schedules reflect business unit-specific training needs
    • Follow up with new joiners to evaluate and monitor training, and ensure training objectives are being met
  • Support and inform the performance development and employee lifecycle needs of employees within the business unit(s), including supporting formal and informal performance management
    • Provide day-to-day performance and management guidance to bankers at various levels, including coaching more junior employees, counseling, career advice and disciplinary actions as required
    • Manage the execution of performance management processes within the business unit(s), including review meeting scheduling, review meeting participant assignments and preparation of review meeting materials
    • Identify and recommend training needs for teams and individuals
    • Make recommendations to Business Unit Leaders and the Talent team regarding employee lifecycle changes or needs (e.g., promotions, transfers, employee leaves, etc.), support employees in those changes and maintain record of related documentation
  • Act as a sounding board and liaison between Business Unit Leaders and the Talent team to ensure coordination and consistency
    • Conduct regular meetings with Business Unit Leaders to provide talent-related updates, and consult with Business Unit Leaders on HR guidance when appropriate
    • Conduct regular meetings with Talent team counterparts to relay business unit updates and HR needs
  • Other duties as assigned based on business need

We anticipate this role will evolve as the Talent Business Partner makes strategic recommendations on how the role can best serve their designated business unit(s) and the broader organization.

Other Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in HR, business or another relevant field with progressive responsibilities throughout tenure
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (clear, simple, situational, multi-level, multi-cultural)
  • Comfort with data and Excel, and strong proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
  • Analytically driven and fluent with data-driven analysis
  • Experience within the financial or professional services industries (preferred, not required)
  • Bachelor’s degree

The salary range for this role is $100,000-$110,000 on an annual basis, prorated to the duration of this temporary engagement. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Chicago. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
