Who We Are:

Our tax team is responsible for the core tax processes and systems that run Wayfair. Finance at Wayfair is tasked with delivering clean, accurate and fast financial information. We own the accuracy, structuring and availability of the financial data that powers Wayfair's data-driven and cost-conscious culture. We are recruiting a Tax Intern, Europe to support the Tax team to provide comprehensive VAT compliance in a fast growing, high volume driven business. You will be working as part of a committed European Tax Function to ensure accurate and timely compliance reporting. We are looking for somebody ambitious to adapt and grow in the role, who can collaborate effectively with their immediate team and our wider Finance organisation. You will be a Finance or Accounting student with ambitions to pursue a career in Tax, Accountancy or Finance. You will enjoy working as part of an international team and multicultural environment and be adept in effectively communicating with a range of people and teams.

What You’ll Do:

  • Preparation of monthly reconciliations VAT reporting.
  • Assistance with the preparation of monthly indirect tax returns, including VAT returns, VIES, EC Sales listings, Intratsats.
  • Completing various checks to ensure accurate transfer of data between Wayfair’s reporting tools.
  • Answering and gathering data to satisfy queries and requests from compliance service providers.
  • The completion off various adhoc projects, i.e., validating master data, partner outreach tasks, assisting with dealing with VAT specific queries and
  • Assisting team members with various month end and Ad hoc tasks

What You’ll Need:

  • Currently studying for a Business or Finance degree.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills; fluent in English, written and verbal.
  • Experience with MS Office, with excellent knowledge of Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and comfortable managing and analysing large volumes of data.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure that deadlines are consistently met.
  • Previous experience in Accounting/Tax is an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided.
