The Team:As Software Engineers in Test we provide hands-on engineering, tools, strategies, guidelines, and analysis to cover quality attributes like performance, scalability, reliability and analyzability over the whole software development lifecycle. 

The Role:Software engineers in test collaborate with our engineering teams. Working students work together with senior engineers of the team, seeing their day-to-day work and operating on dedicated topics, mostly experiments, that show the feasibility and impact of adaptation on our products.

The work you’ll do:

• Investigate performance and scalability bottlenecks in our software products
• Plan, design and conduct experiments that show the impact of potential refactorings to solve such bottlenecks
• Document and present results as well as first recommendations on how to improve

The qualifications you need:

• Solid knowledge in relational databases and system’s resource usage
• Experience in a scripting language (e.g. python)
• Curiosity for learning new technologies and solving complex problems
• A proactive attitude to own and drive topics
• Fun in breaking systems and even more in investigating root causes
