Chewy is seeking a highly motivated, analytical, and hard-working Accounting Intern to join our Accounting Team! What You’ll Do 

As an Accounting Intern, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting strategic initiatives and ensuring financial and accounting objectives are met. Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Assist with the month-end close process, preparing journal entries and reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records in line with Chewy’s policies
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with team members and leaders to track financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and provide actionable insights
  • Build and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning
  • Partner with teams to support Sarbanes-Oxley controls testing and contribute to operational audits
  • Assist Controllership with advisory roles on critical initiatives
  • Prepare ad-hoc analyses and reports for senior leadership to drive key decisions
  • Participate in strategic and annual planning processes to align business goals with financial outcomes 

What You’ll Need 

To thrive in this cross-functional role, you’ll need: 

  • Enrolled full-time in a Bachelor’s program in Finance, Accounting, or Economics, or an Master’s/MBA program, with an anticipated graduation date of Spring 2026
  • Foundational knowledge in financial analysis, modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with attention to detail and a natural curiosity for solving problems
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams and senior leaders
  • Advanced Excel skills  

Bonus 

  • Familiarity with tools like SQL, Hyperion SmartView, Tableau, or Oracle ERP
  • Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation
