About the role: 

Liftoff is seeking an Accounts Receivable Manager that will own the development of a world-class receivables operation. This new leader will work cross-functionally with our Corporate Accounting, Commercial Finance, Deal Desk, Sales, and Customer Success teams to ensure the timely and accurate billing of customers, collections, and reconciliations.  Your vision, strategy, and process improvement skills will ensure we can provide a great customer and billing experience, while supporting Go-To-Market and Revenue initiatives.

The Accounts Receivable Manager will be part of the Accounting Organization and report directly to the Director of Financial Operations. Location: 

This role is eligible for remote-first work in the Pacific & Mountain time zone.

  • US office locations: Redwood City (HQ), San Francisco, Los Angeles, Remote California. 

How you will make a difference:

  • Supervise and lead an AR team, provide guidance on goal setting, performance evaluations, and training programs.
  • Review new onboarded customers and be a point of escalation for custom contracts.
  • Monitor and facilitate Salesforce & Netsuite data hygiene best practices.
  • Manage and monitor account receivable activities, including billing and collections.
  • Review and approve customer invoices and credit memos, and ensure they are accurate and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Oversee our Credit Check & Collections Policy, including assessing the credit risk of new customers.
  • Manage our AR forecast and work cross-functionally with our Sales, Treasury, and FP&A leaders to provide reporting on open invoices to meet collection targets. 
  • Develop and implement strategies for reducing days sales outstanding (DSO) and improving cash flow.
  • Communicate with customers and resolve any disputes or issues related to billing and collections.
  • Work closely with the finance team to prepare financial reports and analysis on AR.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to AR and revenue recognition standards.
  • Identify process improvements, develop effective internal controls, and implement best practices to enhance departmental efficiency and effectiveness.

Who you are:

  • 5+ years of experience in hiring and developing great teams in AR, financial operations, or a similar discipline.
  • 5+ years of progressive responsibilities in the tech industry.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Intermediate or advanced Excel skills required (Pivot Tables, Index Match, Sum If, etc.).
  • Experience with Netsuite, Salesforce, Tesorio, Looker, Tableau, or other leading AR/GTM platforms is a plus.
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment including ability to remain flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient while interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in solving multiple and complex challenges through critical thinking and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Extremely organized with good project management skills.
  • Comfortable with creating new processes from scratch.
  • Strong attention to detail, deadline driven, with strong organizational skills, and understands big picture concepts.
  • Senior presence with thoughtful, articulate communication style adaptable to the audience.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

 

Liftoff offers all employees a full compensation package that includes equity and health/vision/dental benefits associated with your country of residence. Base compensation will vary based on candidate location and experience. The following are our base salary ranges for this role: 

  • SF Bay Area, New York City, Los Angeles, Orange County: $ 115K-130K
  • Seattle/Olympia, Austin, Boston, San Diego, Santa Barbara: $105K-120K
  • All other cities in our approved to hire states: $95K-110K
