Administrative Business Partner to the Chief Legal Officer

We are looking for a seasoned, detail-obsessed, and proactive Administrative Business Partner (ABP) to support our newly appointed Chief Legal Officer (CLO) and join the Legal leadership team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, has exceptional organizational and communication skills, and knows how to get things done with professionalism and grace. You’ll be an integral partner to the CLO, helping them stay focused, prepared, and operating at the highest level.

This role requires in-person attendance in our San Francisco, CA office 3-4 days per week, with flexibility depending on business needs.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage Core Administrative TasksOversee a wide range of administrative responsibilities, including complex calendar management and prioritization of the CLO’s time, ensuring alignment across a wide array of internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare Key Legal and Executive MeetingsOrganize and prepare materials for high-level meetings involving the CLO, and including executive leadership, board members, legal partners, regulators, and external counsel. Ensure agendas, documents, and follow-ups are accurate, timely, and well-organized
  • Coordinate TravelPlan and manage all travel logistics—domestic and international—for the CLO. Optimize schedules for efficiency, with close attention to timing, documentation, and supporting materials required for legal or compliance meetings
  • Handle Expense ManagementManage expenses with precision, ensuring timely submission, appropriate tracking, and adherence to budgetary and compliance guidelines. Familiarity with tools such as Navan or similar systems is a plus
  • Support Legal Team OperationsStreamline workflows and coordinate team-wide initiatives such as legal all-hands, leadership offsites, trainings, and policy rollouts. Help onboard new team members and manage internal legal team communications across Slack, Google Groups, and documentation platforms
  • Champion Legal Processes & ComplianceBe a trusted resource and connector for internal teams navigating legal processes, compliance, and policy matters. Direct employees to appropriate internal legal and compliance resources, and help the CLO stay ahead of key obligations
  • Engage with Critical StakeholdersFacilitate high-touch communication and logistics with board members, regulatory bodies, external counsel, and senior executives. Act as a representative of the CLO’s office with professionalism, teamwork and discretion
  • Contribute to Legal Leadership TeamBe a core member of the Legal leadership team, bringing insight, foresight, and organizational clarity to the table. Track and manage action items, follow-ups, and cross-functional coordination efforts to ensure business continuity and legal excellence

We’re seeking an experienced, highly organized, and proactive Administrative Business Partner to support our Chief Legal Officer. The ideal candidate is a master of logistics, thrives under pressure, and understands the importance of confidentiality, judgment, and precision in a legal environment.

  • Anticipates Needs: Proactive, solutions-oriented, and always thinking one step ahead of the CLO
  • Improves Systems: Skilled at identifying inefficiencies and building scalable administrative solutions within a legal team structure
  • Attention to Detail: Extreme attention to detail with a zero-tolerance policy for errors in legal and executive contexts
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: Able to build trust-based relationships with internal executives, external counsel, board members, and legal stakeholders. Adept at teamwork and collaboration
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, especially in high-stakes, highly confidential scenarios
  • IT Savvy: Comfortable navigating administrative and legal tools (e.g., G Suite, Slack, DocuSign, Navan), with the ability to learn new platforms quickly
  • Self-Starter and Problem Solver: Works independently, embraces ambiguity, and solves problems before they escalate
  • Confidentiality and Judgment: Demonstrates sound judgment, especially when managing privileged or sensitive information
  • Team Support: Brings a service-first mindset, contributing as a reliable and valued member of the Legal leadership team

We'll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these: 

  • 8+ years of administrative experience supporting C-level executives in a fast-paced tech environment, with proven success in managing complex projects and large-scale events from strategic planning to seamless execution
  • Experience engaging with board members and investors, handling high-stakes interactions with professionalism and discretion
  • Demonstrated ability to work across cross-functional teams and manage high-stakes responsibilities with discretion and professionalism

Work Hours: 

  • This position requires you to work during scheduled hours from approximately 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the work location's time zone (PST). Due to the nature of the role and collaboration with executives and stakeholders across various time zones, flexibility in working hours, including occasional work outside of regular business hours, will be necessary.

Work Location & Travel Requirements: 

This position is based in our San Francisco, CA office. The role requires in-office presence 3-4 days a week. 

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home.  

This position may require travel as required by your role or requested by your manager.

Salary: 

The estimated salary range for this position is $59.29/hour to $71.15/hour.

Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
