What is the key purpose of an Advertising Sales Director, Growth Advertisers?

Taboola is looking for an passionate, results-driven Advertising Sales Director, Growth Advertisers. This is a critical role that sits within the Growth Sales Organization, a significant driver of revenue for Taboola. The successful candidate will be able to lead, coach and develop a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) and Account Executives (AEs) who conduct outreach, negotiate and close (quality) deals for sponsored content to be placed on the Taboola platform.The Advertising Sales Director, Growth Advertisers will be expected to hire, develop, retain and build a winning performance driven culture.  

Taboola is widely recognized as the world’s leading content discovery and distribution platform that now serves over 360 billion editorial and video recommendations to over 1 billion unique visitors every month. Publishers, marketers, and agencies leverage Taboola’s platform to retain users on their sites, monetize their traffic, and distribute their content to drive high-quality audiences. Taboola’s technology analyzes real-time user data (such as geography, device type, referral source, collaborative filtering, and social media trends) to predict the top handful of items a user may want to consume next. 

What skills and qualifications do I need?

For this role it is essential that you have:

  • 8 years of total work experience in a key Advertiser Sales/Account Management, with at least 3 years of managing a sales team
  • Ideally you will have managed a team of managers (bonus points for first time managers!) in an inside sales (SMB or Mid Market) team for at least 2 years
  • Significant experience mentoring & coaching sales people and paving the way for them to excellent performance, with the ability to drive and motivate to new heights
  • Proven focus on continued process improvement through deep use of data to understand where the team’s challenges and improvement areas lie
  • Experience independently hiring and building successful sales teams 
  • Have a demonstrable high emotional intelligence able to work with multiple cultures and across different time zones
  • Able to prioritize effectively and efficiently without losing sight of the objectives
  • Strong Salesforce (SFDC) experience and comfortable using and recording your teams progress in SFDC
  • Technologically savvy – ability to learn and explain what is needed to support a deal's successful implementation and optimization
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment and consistently learn, adapt and develop.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation (verbal and written) 

What will I be doing on a day-to-day basis?

  • Hire, train, develop and performance manage a team of outstanding SDRs and AEs who will excel in outreach to 
    • Inbound leads generated via the Taboola Acquisition team, 
    • Generate new business leads and qualified opportunities as a result of  their own outbound research/prospecting and outreach. 
    • Manage a robust pipeline, new business business and accurately forecast their team’s new business closure rate.
  • Be able to clearly explain to the Sales team who the target market is and what Taboola’s ideal customer profile (ICP) is, to ensure SDRs and AEs prospect in the right areas
  • Ensure that the Sales team is well trained and understands their role in the process of signing new business
  • Ensure the Sales teams understand a clients’ organization, their objectives/goals and CPAs and offer the right Taboola product to the right prospect 
  • Have an excellent understanding of digital technology, video, and ad tech ecosystem to be able to explain product benefits within this context.
  • Be able and willing to follow process and best practices as well as be able to comment and suggest future process improvements 
  • Work closely with Country Managers and Regional Directors on the Enterprise side of the business to align on your go to market approach
  • Work closely with your direct line manager, the Head of Growth, Americas, to take direction, provide updates, feedback and to consistently achieve and exceed revenue goals.
  • Interact with and meet frequently the Acquisition team to ensure alignment and needs
  • Interact with the Growth Account Management team to ensure your team is  effectively managing client expectations in the pre sales phase to help ensure successful campaign management post sales.
  • Work with the Sales Enablement team to help them build ever better onboarding and training programs for new hires and existing employees both individual contributors and Managers
  • Critically build a close alignment with both Advertiser Operations and FP&A to fully understand the business
  • Interact with our project implementation team to effectively manage client expectations and ensure successful implementation of our products and technology.
  • Convey feedback from clients to Taboola’s product team re product development needs.
