We are looking for an Analyst to join our team and leverage data-driven decision making, technical expertise, and strong communication skills through work with our Physical Retail, Specialty Retail Brand, and Exclusive Brand merchant, marketing, and operations teams to continue to drive us forward in our goal to deliver excellent customer outcomes. This role provides a distinct opportunity to influence decisions that have significant impact across many major business functions at Wayfair. CB&S Analysts constantly use data to drive profitable top line revenue, while working cross-functionally to affect product selection, merchandising, operations, and marketing initiatives. Our Analysts play a key role in building cutting edge ‘Big Data’ and leveraging these unique, proprietary, and massive datasets, coupled with a constant flow of experimentation on consumer response, to answer thorny questions that guide our go-to-market strategy.

What You’ll Do

  • Effectively communicate actionable insights across a wide audience with varying technical expertise, including Senior Leadership and other partners in our Specialty Retail Brands, Exclusive Brands, and Physical Retail merchandising, marketing, and operations teams. 
  • Leverage BI tooling to develop easily digestible and user friendly data visualizations, reporting, and data solutions, and train our partners on relevant applications to promote long term adoption of these products. 
  • Ensure our merchandising, operations, marketing, and promotions partners have the tools, data, and reporting they need to make decisions, especially those around assortment creation, promotions, branding, and marketing.
  • Approach broad and complex problems from a technical lens, supporting automation, big data management and comprehension, and predictive analytics and modeling to generate applicable insights and recommendations.
  • Work closely with analytics and data engineering partners across all areas of the business to create accurate and high-impact solutions to address opportunity areas within the organization.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in analytics, statistics, economics, finance, or a quantitative field
  • 0-2 years of experience in a quantitative or analytical role
  • Strong consultative skills: ability to work effectively and persuasively with a highly cross- functional group of business partners
  • Strong business acumen: ability to understand how various parts of the business interact; can identify and approach problems from a customer or supplier perspective
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills: excited about working with and synthesizing big data into actionable insights; comfortable using data software to conduct analyses and synthesize findings
  • Exceptional problem-solving and execution skills: ability to make decisions, reprioritize tasks, and draw conclusions in the face of ambiguity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with any programming language is a plus, including motivation to learn and develop the skill-set (Google BigQuery/SQL, R, Python)
