Data Analytics Manager - Compliance, Risk & Internal Audit Reporting

We’re looking for a Data Analytics Manager who is passionate about Wise’s mission of Money Without Borders and who will partner with our global compliance and internal audit teams to help us on our journey to Mission Zero!

About the team:

Truly delivering on our promise of Money Without Borders means we need to build the best local setups within each of the markets we serve, while ensuring we appropriately manage the risks associated with Business operations. 

You will lead a team of analysts who will develop and own the reporting layer for compliance and internal audit activities to give assurance to the Board and our regulators that we are effectively managing the risks we face. 

Your mission:

You will lead the Compliance, Risk and Internal Audit Reporting analytics team to help the organisation to understand compliance risks across the Globe. You will do this by partnering very closely with Internal Audit and Compliance to ensure they can execute against the IA and compliance regulatory reporting schedules, as well as leveraging data to proactively monitor risks. 

You’ll own the challenge of:

  • Establishing an effective engagement model between 1st line of defence analytics and 2nd/3rd line in providing quantitative assurance of our risk management practices
  • Outlining an implementation plan to address analytical support for regulatory reporting
  • Outlining opportunities to leverage data analytics to identify and quantify risk exposures in line with Internal Audit plan 
  • Identifying opportunities for where automated compliance monitoring would be highly impactful

A bit about you: 

  • You have built reporting outputs, creating advanced SQL scripts based on requirements communicated by stakeholders
  • You have experience of designing and owning data assets; you can build and maintain complex data sources and can leverage visualisation tools (Looker, Superset, PowerBI, Tableau etc.) to surface insights
  • You understand the importance of data integrity, quality & governance. You know how to produce comprehensive data documentation
  • You have advanced stakeholder management skills; you know how to leverage multiple different teams to deliver high-impact change
  • You have a very strong sense of ownership and care about doing things the right way
  • You have 2+ years experience building, coaching and leading a team of analysts

Bonus:

  • You are passionate about the risk, compliance and internal audit space and understand what regulators require of financial institutions
  • You have experience in regulatory reporting and building controls
  • You have an understanding of the role of internal audit and how analytics can be used within internal audit to provide assurance over the effectiveness of risk management

Salary (annual)£88,000—£125,000 GBP
