Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Expert with a focus on Security Master Data to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in private markets, particularly in private debt, and will be responsible for managing and enhancing our security master data management processes. This role involves leading a team, ensuring data accuracy and integrity, and supporting the firm’s investment strategies through high-quality data management.

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Data Governance Implementation: Develop, implement, and maintain robust data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures specifically for security master data.
  • Security Master Data Management: Oversee the management and maintenance of security master data, ensuring data quality, consistency, and reliability.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data analysts and specialists. Provide guidance, training, and performance management to ensure team effectiveness.
  • Private Markets Expertise: Leverage your knowledge of private markets, with a focus on private debt, to enhance the quality and relevance of security master data.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure that all security master data governance practices comply with industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with various stakeholders, including DSE, compliance, risk management, and business units, to ensure alignment and support for data governance initiatives.
  • Data Quality Monitoring: Develop and implement metrics and KPIs to monitor data quality, and perform regular audits to ensure data accuracy.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve data quality issues, working proactively to prevent future occurrences.
  • Training and Awareness: Provide training and support to team members and stakeholders on data governance policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Project Management: Lead and contribute to projects related to data governance, security master data enhancements, and system implementations.
  • Reporting: Produce regular reports on data governance activities, data quality, and project progress for senior management.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: 

  • University Degree in Finance, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in data governance and data management, with a focus on security master data.
  • Experience in private markets, particularly private debt, is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, practices, and frameworks.
  • Proven ability to lead initiatives and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in data management tools and systems (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters, Markit EDMm, S&P CapIQ).
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, and other data analysis tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Highly motivated individual with demonstrated initiative, independence and adaptability
  • Problem solving skills and ability to oversee execution of accurate and high-quality finished products
  • Interest in global financial markets
