As a team of collaborative, and fun-loving designers, researchers, and builders, we’re looking for creative and driven talent to join the pack.

We are looking for an Associate Director, Product Design in our Seattle, WA or Boston, MA offices to join the Chewy Health design team. As the design leader for Connect with a Vet and PetMD you manage a team of designers focused on connecting pet parents to vet expertise. PetMD offer vet verified articles and easy to use tools to make pet health information to easy to find and understand. Connect with a Vet carries access to vets further with instant access to vets through free chat and scheduled video chats. You will report into the Director, Product Design.

You can lead teams that make complex information come to life helping parents get the help they pet parents. You are experienced in collaboration and have created and accomplished against a design vision and a multi-year product roadmap to make experiences real for customers.

What You’ll Do

  • Transform customer goals into compelling products that have purpose, simplicity, and are possible to build.
  • Lead creative thinking across a range of products, platforms, and devices and crisp management
  • Manage the design process from end to end: Discovery and concept brainstorming, flows and wireframes, and full-fidelity prototype designs.
  • Manage the design team ensuring that they are engaged and growing.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, content strategists, user researchers, and other designers.
  • Champion cohesion and consistency to unite a growing family of products while building a culture of invention.
  • Present your design process, inspiration, and decisions to partners, including C-suite executives.
  • Nurture Chewy’s culture and principles within the group and set new standards for execution.  

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role.
  • 4+ years of experience leading large-scale programs and leading designers.
  • Experience designing high-quality digital products that delivered results and demonstrate the depth of your design; illustrated in a portfolio or case studies.
  • Achieved mastery of a core set of design skills in interaction design, information architecture, and user interface design.
  • Evaluate the customer and growth of your design decisions inside and outside of your own product area.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent degree) in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience with the design field.

Bonus

  • Experience delivering consumer experiences in healthcare or other complex regulated industry
  • Experience with telemedicine, health content, or other health care products

Compensation & Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $124,500-$255,000. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Non-exempt hourly team members accrue paid time off (PTO) while salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Non-exempt hourly team members in Fulfillment Centers and Customer Service are also eligible for additional unplanned unpaid time off (UTO). Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
